Nolan's The Odyssey - Potentially could be epic or an epic flop.

Shape of the Water feels a lot like a fable and most of del Toro's work are very much fairy tales and fables
It's why I love the guy. He just has this sense of childlike wonder when it comes to storytelling, even if the story can be gruesome or have adult elements.

This is annoying because Lupita seems to be a nice person and she's a good actress. She doesn't deserve the mockery, but then, she knew well this could happen when she took the role.
Ι used to be on this side of the argument but I've done a 180 since. We condemn all other kinds of vandalism, by participating in this you're willing commiting cultural vandalism for money. I don't see why that should shield you.

The only way this horrible cast could work is if it was modern like Romeo+Juliet. Ulysses King is a high-ranking military officer from an Old Money family who goes MIA with his squad in the Middle East and the Mediterranean during the Gulf War for a decade. He fucks hookers, does drugs, steals steaks, blinds a one-eyed bouncer, loses his men and eventually meets his son fighting in the invasion of Iraq and he returns home to Ithaca NY to ice all the Jodies who want to bang his Penny. Lupita could symbolize the oil he was fighting for or something. I would actually watch this if I was drunk/high.
I had a sort of silly idea where the joke was to have Helen of Troy be from Troy, New York.

The Odyssey ends with the butchering of all of Penelope's suitors who were squatting at the estate and the lady servants who banged them.
Is genocide becoming one of those words used somewhat ironically and somewhat retardedly? Similar to how zoomers say they marathoned an episode of Seinfeld?

New trailer.

I... just don't feel it.
Meh.
Another title that I'll get when it's on torrents and will probably rot in my storage until I'm bored one day, then delete it and forget about it.

Remember the Romeo and Juliet movie from 1996? I would rather watch the Odysee if it was like this and takes place in New York. At least that would explain jogger Helen.

Age of mythology is still the best greek mythology story

I stopped paying to see this pretentious British fuck's films at the cinema ever since I wasted my money seeing The Dark Knight Climaxes.

The more I hear and see about this movie, the more I'm really starting to relish that decision.

The reason why is because this movie is Nolan's autism for the IMAX format. Where the film is shot in a 1.43:1 aspect ration on IMAX film. This means that the entire thing will be cropped for anything else but the select few cinemas capable of showing it in this format. There are not many of these, I will return to this later.

For most cases, it doesn't really matter. But in the case it explains why everything is so off. this is because they have a very particular design, and speaker layout. It will be in a 5 channel mix for example, which is outdated compared to most cinema experiences. Again, this is because of the IMAX film format being an old format. Yes, it is visually amazing but this doesn't negate the fact that the technology used hasn't changed in over 3 decades since the rolling out of the SR model, this being the last actual IMAX film projector for large GT cinemas. This is not including the MPX projectors, but they were a stop gap measure when IMAX were developing their digital xenon projector.

For context, there are a very few numbers of cinemas that are capable of showing it on film. There will likely only be just over 30 cinemas showing it on film (it could be more as some SR ang GT projectors remained in stockpile and were brought out such as with a new additional in Rochester and TCL having a temporary GT projector for Oppenheimer and Dune Part 3), and another 38 capable of showing it in dual laser in the format that it is meant to be seen. - 8 of these will be able to properly show it properly in digital and film. Furthermore, quite a few of the digital locations are museums and won't show it.

This number of cinemas is also unlikely to increase for the reason that IMAX is no longer producing either Dual Laser or Film projectors (they stopped making them over a decade and a half ago as they wanted to switch to digital, and then IMAX's business became to convert smaller multiplexes). This is in spite of Oppenheimer + new film cameras resulting in an increase in demand for 1.43:1 formats. Which I will admit, can be pretty stunning. Project Hail Mary was great in a digital showing.

elliot page is going to be one of the sirens luring matt damon onto the jagged rocks with his sweaty mediterranean boy pussy, hopefully matt damon can resist this lurid temptress and make his way back home
