Sometimes it isn't about the money but propaganda. They seem adamant to modernize and update old myths to appeal to the current zeitgeist.
Funny thing is, insisting to an audience that black is white seems to backfire more often that not as we see with the likes of Disney's Snow White and Amelia and in the generality, with it being the younger generations who seem to most comprehensively reject all of this crap.

It's amazing how each translation gets shorter. A century from now it'll just be a single paragraph.
"Toxic white cis male, Odysseus, driven by his pride and folly causes chaos and devastation to the peaceful indigenous peoples of the lands he colonises. Penelope, a glorious nubian qween, most affected as she ultimately shows that she don't need no man as she stunningly and bravely transistions Telemachus to the proud woman ze always was. Now take your jab and eat the bugs."

Indeed, but they're also forced to do so if they want their movies to be considered for awards.

Anyone complaining about costumes or any other shit like that are just comic book faggots whining about Superman’s cape not being the right shade of red. You guys sound like Redditors. It’s embarrassing and you should kill yourselves

This movie will be fantastic because Nolan is the perfect director for the job. Only other closest guy is Denis Vilenigger but he’s too busy with his spaceworm bullshit to do this

Whoever translates the word "polytropos" with "complicated" should retake their Greek course.
Translating polytropos to complicated is what happens when you don't know what polytropos means, so you look it up in the dictionary, and then you still don't understand what it means, so then you literally go "This is too complicated for me to understand, so it must literally mean something complicated, I'll translate it as complicated."

She literally won an award for this translation btw.

Is it true that they replaced Helen of Troy with Helen of Detroit?

Fucking pass.

And because you can barely see anything.

This is not salvageable. You could change out the entirety of the cast and it would still be rotten to the core.
I was already a pretty hard pass on this movie but using Wilson's translation as the basis for it is just the nail in the coffin.

Helen is a very minor role in The Odyssey. She'll probably only be in one scene - a dinner party in Sparta, where she'll be the wife of confirmed nigger-loving jew Jon Bernthal, and telling Tom Holland how awesome his father is (also roofies him lol).

It's definitely going to be her. Samantha Morton is the only other female not attached to a role yet, and she's too old (well there's Ellen Page too, but I'm not sure if that would be better or worse for Helen).

Anyone who pays to watch this should be burned alive.

This is annoying because Lupita seems to be a nice person and she's a good actress. She doesn't deserve the mockery, but then, she knew well this could happen when she took the role.
