not a single person listed there would fit as a character in the odyssey, except maybe as a background servant or one of the suitors that odysseus butchers. I can't wait to hear about this ad-nauseum as anti-woke and anti-anti-woke grifters fight over if there really were niggers and/or women in ancient greece.
 
We went from Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger in 2004's Troy to Tom Holland and his mystery meat mulatta today, over twenty years later. God damn every jew in Hollywood.

Bernthal is usually pretty good, but the rest of the cast is just awful.

It'll suck shit though, just as everything he has done since Dark Knight Rises. Nolan is unable to balance his audio correctly if his life depended on it. Not being able to hear dialogue is just so 'naturalistic'.
 
I'm sure it will be well shot but I've never been a fan of Nolan's choice of color. It's always washed out and grey, whether it's trying to be sleek or gritty. Hate it. I miss when fantasy films and epics were colorful. Music will be amazing.

Don't know why Zendaya's in this but Matt Damon and Tom Holland aren't exactly the most olive actors so whatever they're not going for realism to begin with.
 
I actually think Bernthal will do a good job, whatever his role is. I have a hunch he's gonna be one of the suitors. Hathaway could well be Penelope.

They're good, but will never beat the superior version that was the Hallmark miniseries with Armand Assante.

And for the record, yes, it had a black actress. Calipso. But it was played by freaking Vanessa Williams.
 
I dread that they will make Ellen Page Telemachus.

My boy can't catch a break, as a fan of Fenelon book, I want Telemachus to be cool

Because Holland has the right age to play Telemachus, not Odysseus.

If some 20-something dude tells me he's offered a main role in The Odyssey, my first guess it's that he's playing Telemachus, not his father. Odysseus, Penelope, Telemachus, and a few gods are main roles.
 
If you showed this cast to someone 100 years ago, they'd wonder why The Odyssey was now a minstrel show.
