My reaction to this whole thing is complete amazement that people still care about the Oscars. Plenty of films/people have undeservedly won/been nominated for Oscars over the years to the point the Academy's credibility has been almost completely eroded away (at least to me). The only reason people care now is because social justice whining is "in" at the moment. Why are black people entitled to awards just for being black? Aren't the Oscars about celebrating talent?

No really. Hell, you can argue the awards have been driven more by politics or celebrity egocentrism for decades.

I'm having trouble figuring out what makes this feminist, besides having a female protagonist and antagonist, neither of whom are conventionally attractive. By that logic the original Metroid would be feminist. Likewise, Sarkeesian hailed Swords and Sworcery as being pro-feminist, despite the protagonist being so pixellated that I had no clue she was female, and silent too. In all of these cases, the gender of the characters is immaterial. If any of them were male, would the game be any different?
Is feminism not about empowerment and agency for women anymore, but instead giving them their won blank canvas to project themselves upon?
Doesn't everybody know the point of the Academy Awards is to point and laugh at Leonardo DiCaprio's desperate Oscar-baiting fails over and over?
Try since the awards existed?

I don't have a problem at all with people bashing Hollywood for being a bloated eunuch that has an almost pathological fear of making interesting stories about non-Anglos. But what bugs me about the likes of The Mary Sue is their complete denial of their own role in helping cause this outcome by simultaneously making everything about identity politics and responding to any real or imagined slight to their pet causes -- such as casting Christian Bale or Russel Crowe in a Biblical epic -- like they're fucking jihadis.
They've actively made things worse, and have shown no signs of stopping.
Wouldn't they be glad that most of the races are non-binary or simply genderless? The Necrons, Daemons, Tyranids, and Orks have completely different conceptions of gender and how it works. It's also speculated that the Tyranids are female, because they are insectoid and a hivemind.http://www.themarysue.com/warhammer-40k-gender-representation/
I used to play 40k when I was 14 so as anyone who is even remotely aware of the setting knows how totally absurd this for so many different reasons it could write an article double this ones length, not in the least because the reasons the sisters arnt as popular model wise is because they don't sell as well. Also praising the Dark Eldar's gender representation while bitching about their costumes (another sex negative femminist, what a surprise) is pretty hilarious when you read what they're actually like.
