I'm not even a Warhammer expert, but isn't the setting supposed to be, uh, "crapsack"? As in, not really meant to represent a morally ideal world? So why try to make the gender politics ideal?

Yea it's supposed to take place in a terrible war torn world. You see the same sort of thing with feminist/sjw types arguing that a medieval fantasy setting has to have an equal distribution of races and progressive gender roles.

An example of The Mary Sue insulting men even when it's men being mocked.

http://www.themarysue.com/warhammer-40k-gender-representation/

I used to play 40k when I was 14 so as anyone who is even remotely aware of the setting knows how totally absurd this for so many different reasons it could write an article double this ones length, not in the least because the reasons the sisters arnt as popular model wise is because they don't sell as well. Also praising the Dark Eldar's gender representation while bitching about their costumes (another sex negative femminist, what a surprise) is pretty hilarious when you read what they're actually like.

How can anyone take WH40K seriously as a representation of anything in reality? Just how fucking dumb are these people?

This is even more autistic than neckbeards who actually take the grimderp setting seriously and get all edgy about it.

The weird part is the setting doesn't generally discriminate against women but each faction is so repressive or violently anarchistic it's completely redundant.

My guess is with the first one: "Fandom is what dictates the story. If the creator is smart, (s)he will do what the audience wants, not what (s)he thinks the audience wants. And that's why we haven't had something other the supposingly homoerotic tension that is C-3PO and R2D2's relationship." With the second one: "Uh, no, we're not being entitled. We just think it's time for the mainstream Star Wars stuff to do something like that. But I still think we're "owed" a cannon Steve and Bucky relationship because of the homoerotic tension."

Going back to Steven Universe, if it wasn't for the fact that Steven and Connie were an interracial and could turn into a intersex/agender being (Stevonie) and Connie is a geek girl TMS would be less supportive of the relationship. Imagine if Connie was a white valley girl that was into fashion and cooking and she couldn't fuse with Steven.
Why do you think none of the SJW fanatics gave a shit about Greg until they found out he used to be hot when he was younger?

They can't separate fantasy from reality. They also think depiction is the same as endorsement. They even go one step further than taking things out of context and deliberately construct a completely different one to push their narrative. So a sexist villain might be written up in an article all but saying he's the main character. If this level of accuracy was applied to other games:

Final Fantasy 7 is about stabbing a flower girl through the heart.
Gone Home is about breaking and entering to vandalize a house.
Dark souls is a fire-and-brimstone depiction of hell, in which you die over and over but your body regenerates, meaning you will suffer for eternity.
Minecraft is an animal cruelty simulator.

(I wouldn't be surprised if they actually and unironically wrote an article saying one of those things)

Because they are useful idiots that only care about social status than actually understanding works of fiction. Warhammer 40k is a popular geek IP, henceforth needs to abide to current pseudo intellectual standards as is "mainstream" enough to people take notice of the Mary Sue's bitching.

This is pretty much the sole point of this whole site. "X is problematic because Y." X is some popular franchise. Y is some reason so fucking dumb it will piss people off.

I suppose thats why the "fake geek girl" outcry of some years back were important to them as excuse for them to not actually know of what they were talking about.

Indeed, they're what comes to my mind once I hear "fake geek". Geek culture to them is nothing more than the trendy new pulpit spot.

I firmly believe that categorizing yourself by your love of pop culture is kind of dumb.

That still doesn't mean I don't think these guys are fucking poseurs.

Sigh...

I suggest checking out the comments section as well for more obnoxiousness. One poster does make a good point that it feels like the site will almost never say anything positive about masculine traits and manly men. (As if they're all violent brutes with no compassion.) If there is a positive trait, it's congratulated as a more feminine one. God forbid a man flirts with a woman, is turned-on by them or shows protectiveness or concern over a woman's well-being.

I think if you're the sort who worries if people actually think your a poseurs you have more severe issues to worry about.

I just had a little debate over this post on Facebook after the "Full of Sith" page linked to it. You can read it here if you're interested (I'm posting as Brandon Pilcher, of course).
