RE4R is pretty good. Mercs is in there. Separate Ways and Assignment Ada are MIA currently. It's worth picking up but it's shooting system is pretty shit compared to the original.Oh OK. Nevermind me lol
RE3R. RE4R was pretty competently made. (Although a tad bit soulless.)wait what? they removed all this in the RE4 remake?
im have this weird thing with RE. I like them, but cant play them, just too hard for me. but as a kid i did beat RE4....did they really fuck all that up?
The worst thing about RE3R is the wasted potential. Imagine if they put love, effort, time, and money into having stuff like the live choice system and even improving on it. RE2R updated and improved Mr. X, but bizarrely RE3R massively diminished Nemesis and so much else.Yeah, it’s a perfectly serviceable game if you buy it on sale for $10. Dipshit.
Hmm, let’s go down the list.
-5 hour game
-removed mercenaries
-removed live choice system
-removed an ending
-removed entire locations (clock tower, replaced dead factory with much shorter, more boring recycled lab section from re2r)
-challenges are not extra content. That’s filler.
-literally nothing to do outside of finishing the game once
Removed two endings IIRC.-removed an ending
There's only two endings to RE3. One with Barry and one without.Removed two endings IIRC.
There's the one where Carlos flies the helicopter, the helicopter showing up and you don't get to see who's flying it, and the Barry ending. There's only two endings to RE3. One with Barry and one without.
You get the Barry ending by jumping off the bridge before the Dead Factory.
Carlos isn't the pilot. There's the one where Carlos flies the helicopter, the helicopter showing up and you don't get to see who's flying it, and the Barry ending.
Huh, I could of sworn there's an ending where he is flying the helicopter.
I see what you mean. I always go for the Barry ending so I forgot that part. Even so, it's only two endings. Barry's ending is apparently canon.Huh, I could of sworn there's an ending where he is flying the helicopter.
Edit: No, Carlos is the pilot in the first one, it's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment right at the beginning.
I decided to go for minimalist, frugalist and silent stranger in 1 run whilst also collecting the remaining clockwork castellians on assisted difficulty. It's going well, I'm at the minecart section now at 4 hours and 15 minutes. I've been using just the matilda as well as the fighting knife and combat knife but prioritising using disposable knives whenever i find them. I don't think the cat ears are necessary, the game seems to rubberband it's ammo drop frequency as any time I've found myself running out I'd suddenly find 40-60 rounds from the next couple of enemies or containers. This coupled with the fact that the matilda fucking shreds everything on assisted has made it smooth sailing, no enemy has taken more than 1 magazine including El Gigante and Mendez. (Edit: Verdugo took 2)I had maybe 3 or so playthroughs before I got everything. I did my S+ pro run. Then I did Minimalist on Assisted with my no Merchant run. Then I did Assisted on my no heal run.
The cat ears is the reward for S+. They want a completely clean run with no bonus weapons btw. And it has to be new game, not ng+.I decided to go for minimalist, frugalist and silent stranger in 1 run whilst also collecting the remaining clockwork castellians on assisted difficulty. In hindsight attempting this on professional is a fucking dumb idea, thanks for the advice!
The butchering of RE3 sucks because it had potential to rival RE4 in an over the shoulder framework as one of the most enjoyable action heavy and repeatable games in the franchise. Not to mention, RE3 has some of the best atmosphere in the whole franchise I don't give a fuck what anyone says, the empty city streets of the original game, the destruction, the deathly quiet and the wandering dead, that shit fills me with a kind of dread I haven't felt in decades. The worst thing about RE3R is the wasted potential. I still think they should remake the first Resident Evil Outbreak but make it two distinct modes: one pure singleplayer without the "group management" and then one for co-op. Playing in a city where the virus starts to spread sounds like a lot of fun.The butchering of RE3 sucks because it had potential to rival RE4 in an over the shoulder framework as one of the most enjoyable action heavy and repeatable games in the franchise. All that gone, replaced with nothing but girlboss attitude and generic action movie shit. Hiring ex Platinum devs for RE3 was a fucking mistake.
No thanks.I still think they should remake the first Resident Evil Outbreak
Nope. Do not want to risk thatI still think they should remake the first Resident Evil Outbreak but make it two distinct modes: one pure singleplayer without the "group management" and then one for co-op.
Agreed, if they expanded RE3 instead of lobotomizing it, it could've been amazing. Like, it should've been incredibly open with tons of ruined zombie-infested city to explore, instead of like one block of street... Original RE3 had branching story options. Imagine if they ran with that and RE3R was this very open RE with a story that went in variation directions based on what you did.The butchering of RE3 sucks because it had potential to rival RE4 in an over the shoulder framework as one of the most enjoyable action heavy and repeatable games in the franchise. It has the potential, it's a shame they squandered it completely.Agreed, if they expanded RE3 instead of lobotomizing it, it could've been amazing.
