Yeah, it’s a perfectly serviceable game if you buy it on sale for $10. Dipshit.

Hmm, let’s go down the list.
-5 hour game
-removed mercenaries
-removed live choice system
-removed an ending
-removed entire locations (clock tower, replaced dead factory with much shorter, more boring recycled lab section from re2r)
-challenges are not extra content. That’s filler.
-literally nothing to do outside of finishing the game once
The worst thing about RE3R is the wasted potential. Imagine if they put love, effort, time, and money into having stuff like the live choice system and even improving on it. RE2R updated and improved Mr. X, but bizarrely RE3R massively diminished Nemesis and so much else.

Removed two endings IIRC.
There's only two endings to RE3. One with Barry and one without.

You get the Barry ending by jumping off the bridge before the Dead Factory.

I think that with RE3R, even looking at it in the most farovable terms, should be considered at best a dlc for RE2R. I would have much preferred for RE3R to be scrapped, give those areas like the subway, the other parts of the city, the power plant and the hospital to RE2R and then make an actual RE3R from the ground up.

Of course this didn't happened but that's my theory, given how sloppily RE3R was made it wouldn't surprise me if RE2R was supposed to be much bigger but they decided to gimp it and from that small part they took, make RE3R.

There's the one where Carlos flies the helicopter, the helicopter showing up and you don't get to see who's flying it, and the Barry ending.

Huh, I could of sworn there's an ending where he is flying the helicopter.

Edit: No, Carlos is the pilot in the first one, it's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment right at the beginning.
I see what you mean. I always go for the Barry ending so I forgot that part. Even so, it's only two endings. Barry's ending is apparently canon.

I had maybe 3 or so playthroughs before I got everything. I did my S+ pro run. Then I did Minimalist on Assisted with my no Merchant run. Then I did Assisted on my no heal run.
I decided to go for minimalist, frugalist and silent stranger in 1 run whilst also collecting the remaining clockwork castellians on assisted difficulty. It's going well, I'm at the minecart section now at 4 hours and 15 minutes. I've been using just the matilda as well as the fighting knife and combat knife but prioritising using disposable knives whenever i find them. I don't think the cat ears are necessary, the game seems to rubberband it's ammo drop frequency as any time I've found myself running out I'd suddenly find 40-60 rounds from the next couple of enemies or containers. This coupled with the fact that the matilda fucking shreds everything on assisted has made it smooth sailing, no enemy has taken more than 1 magazine including El Gigante and Mendez. (Edit: Verdugo took 2)

In hindsight attempting this on professional is a fucking dumb idea, thanks for the advice!

The cat ears is the reward for S+. They want a completely clean run with no bonus weapons btw. And it has to be new game, not ng+.

Like I mentioned before. You're best bet it to find a newer speedrun video so you can blast through it. You need to skip so many resources in that run since for one. The risk vs reward ratio is completely busted on pro. And two, you're under a time constraint and you can only save 15 times. The gate skip in chapter 14 right before his boss fight is what saved my run since it saved like 20 minutes. It's the easy skip to do in the game and it works on all platforms. I did it on PS4 after three tries. Although, I think that shit is patched now. That was another reason why I was going hard to get it ASAP.

In my S+ run. I had used my last save at the merchant before the final Krauser fight. I bought the RPG so I wouldn't even sweat his final phase of his fight, but you need to be conscious of splash back damage if you're too close. Then, I have to do the 5=4 section, but you can skip a lot of it's bullshit by lobbing two heavy grenades into the AA gun and skips the climb section to the turret and you can just run to the door Mike blows up. The last section with the two switches is a complete pain in the ass and all my resets were there. You need to go in there with at least four flashes. The rest of the game from there is pretty much on autopilot. But you need to do turret skip right before the Sanctuary where you can skip through the turret laser by allowing a Novi to kick you through it and it takes all the damage. Although it's RNG as you can possibly get killed from it, but my one and only time getting that far from my Krauser save went all the way to the end and I did the skip in one try. I don't think that's something they can really patch so it's probably still available. That last section is cancer.

And finally, sell all your shit and shoot the RPG up Saddler's ass. Although, try to keep one weapon to damage his tentacle form to speed up her tossing the RPG. It's timed so you'll get it slower without doing that, but if you're still under the limit it wouldn't matter.

The butchering of RE3 sucks because it had potential to rival RE4 in an over the shoulder framework as one of the most enjoyable action heavy and repeatable games in the franchise. Not to mention, RE3 has some of the best atmosphere in the whole franchise I don't give a fuck what anyone says, the empty city streets of the original game, the destruction, the deathly quiet and the wandering dead, that shit fills me with a kind of dread I haven't felt in decades.

All that gone, replaced with nothing but girlboss attitude and generic action movie shit. Hiring ex Platinum devs for RE3 was a fucking mistake.

I still think they should remake the first Resident Evil Outbreak but make it two distinct modes: one pure singleplayer without the "group management" and then one for co-op. Playing in a city where the virus starts to spread sounds like a lot of fun.

Nope. Do not want to risk that

Agreed, if they expanded RE3 instead of lobotomizing it, it could've been amazing. Like, it should've been incredibly open with tons of ruined zombie-infested city to explore, instead of like one block of street... Original RE3 had branching story options. Imagine if they ran with that and RE3R was this very open RE with a story that went in variation directions based on what you did.

It has the potential, it's a shame they squandered it completely.
