I watched Ant Man 2 in the theater and two men at least in their late 20s went nuts during the post-credits scene and were kicking the seats and cheering. I've never seen anything gayer.‘Grown Men’ Were ‘Sobbing’ During ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Camera Tests Because Hugh Jackman Showed Up in Wolverine’s Yellow Suit
How would you not be embarrassed to cry over a yellow suit.

The only thing sad about the MCU is that I actually spent money on tickets for it.‘Grown Men’ Were ‘Sobbing’ During ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Camera Tests Because Hugh Jackman Showed Up in Wolverine’s Yellow Suit

Hey so I heard that Henry Cavill has a cameo as Wolverine is it true?I just got back from Deadpool and Wolverine. A movie in Japan actually opened the same time as the rest of the world.
It was enjoyable and not disappointing.
WOLVERINE PUTS ON THE MASK AND IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE SHIT.

How'd you rate the trilogy?I just got back from Deadpool and Wolverine. A movie in Japan actually opened the same time as the rest of the world.

"Satire/parody" is not winking at the audience once every 30 minutes
E;R's videos are extremely good at explaining why deadpool isn't a parody or subversion at all and why the meta commentary on the genre it attempts to make falls extremely falls flat. The videos are on the first movie, but what they say applies in triplicate to the third movie.Agreed on all counts, except for one:
It seemed like it was done every three seconds. The film is what a moron thinks genre deconstruction is when they believe there's nothing wrong with the genre; with all self-referential criticisms conveyed in the condescending tone of "this is an example of what critics have had to say about the tropes we rely on to make the movie happen", rather than actually owning one's faults.
The "meta" commentary is blatantly for the sake of insulating the studio and broader industry from direct criticism which might hurt their feelings more than a light ribbing (I expect loyal fans will hyperbolically claim that the film "ROASTS" Hollywood). If the film was going to insist on being a self-referential quip fest, then it could have easily benefitted from characters acknowledging that the plot is a series of thin contrivances, with an absence of actual stakes or consequence inherent in the formula of The Good Guys Win at the End. Instead, literally every character, down to the cameos, shares the same false motivation of acting like something important is at stake in their two hundred million dollar "we don't take ourselves too seriously" vanity project. It isn't a "turn your brain off popcorn movie" if the film is constantly vacillating between telling the audience to care and then not care in order to assert itself as being higher-concept than it actually is.
