WHEN WILL CONDORMAN JOIN THE MCU

https://youtube.com/watch?v=uMJVoq70ejgI am hearing Thunderbolts has a lengthy therapy scene. Why is psychology worshiped like religion?
I'm going to push back on this as I am familiar with the characters from the comics. While a 27-minute therapy scene is insane if that's accurate, everything behind Sentry, as well as the Thunderbolts. The Sentry is a bum and an addict that fell ass backwards into superpowers and his greatest enemy is a physical manifestation of this shitty part of himself. Meanwhile all the main characters of the movie were essentially tools of the government, like the superhero version of CIA agents building Banana Republics. At somepoint anyone is going to go through a moral / ethical dark night of the soul.

There's an actual justification for character development, which is something that's been missing from the MCU. People acknowledging that the world that spurned them is pretty fucked, (it is, some 9x butt chinned Grimace murdered 50% of humanity) is a reasonable outlook isn't crazy.

This movie is so unhinged in making The Thing have the backstory of his catchphrase come from Ben's brother beating him up while saying "It's Clobbering Time"

Anyway reviews are coming out for Thunderbolts* and a common talking point is how its the "Best Marvel movie since Endgame", and my god I am not going to doubt whether or not the movie is good (I haven't seen it) but "Best Marvel Movie since Endgame" is somehow more obnxious than when DC shill reviews say "[INSERT NEW DC MOVIE] is the best DC movie since The Dark Knight" because while Endgame serves as a good capping stone for the Infinity saga, as a movie on its own it isn't really good. Between the reverse snap, that random pandering moment where all the girls team up, Thor's downgrade, Professor Hulk, and many other things, it is a flawed movie. Plus, there were objectively better movies that came out since Endgame in the MCU like the two MCU Spider-Man movies and Guardians 3. At least with The Dark Knight, it has a lot of prestige in being a genuinely great movie (even if it isn't the best Batman movie) but Endgame is really mid.

I don't disagree with you, but if you can't show character development without almost literally siting the characters down and talking about it, you shouldn't be doing comics or movies based in comics. Show no tell is even more important in a medium that's 90% visual.

Is that the one where the Fantastic Four swapped places with their counterparts from a dimension where everybody is dinosaurs and they thought someone had turned the Avengers into dinosaurs, meanwhile back in their universe, the Avengers thought that someone had turned the Fantastic Four into dinosaurs? And both universes had a great big fight?
This sounds so retardedly off the wall insane that I love it. Comics really need more random dinosaur moments

I was rereading some parts of the latest FF4 run in relation to Doom.

And realized these scenes looked familiar.

Doom would go back in far in time to kill everyone from the Marvel Civil War event.

To save Valeria Von Doom/Richards.

There is an upcoming X-men Vs Godzilla comic for June, I think.
I hope Godzilla wins. Conclusively. That would genuinely be an entertaining comic.

Xavier: "Its mind is too savage, I can't influence it."
Cyclops: "My laser eyes seemed to annoy it. Wait - its mouth is glowing blue..."
Jean: "Scott! Oh no - I can't go on without him. I'm out of here."
Jubilee: "I've done everything I can. I'm not sure it noticed."
Nightcrawler: "I have teleported about a lot but that didn't seem to stop it."
Juggernaut: "Nothing stops me! [...] It stopped me."
Magneto: "I've thrown every metal object I can find at it. They just bounce off.
Wolverine: "It just ate Deadpool. I consider it a friend now."
Magik: "I made portal. Portal not big enough."
Bobby: "I'm so confused about my sexuality. I don't know why but the moment Jean left I began thinking I might be straight. Sorry - I have to go think."

Like, just pages of the X-Men getting their butts handed to them. At the end, Godzilla just wades back into the sea. Having destroyed Tokyo it's now time for a nap. Beast discovers that Godzilla is a dinosaur with an X-gene. He announces that as a mutant the humans were clearly persecuting it and it had every right to defend itself. Kitty lectures the handful of surviving citizens on their non-mutant privilege.

But like all cross-overs, it will simply establish that both are equally valid for fear of pissing off either fan group.

The most I know about him is what I read in World War Hulk, so this is entirely new information.

So it's already handling the fallout of the Snap better than Far From Home.

My best guess was that they wanted Ben to reclaim the phrase, but it's still really fucked up with how they executed it.

They say that every time. They said it as far back as No Way Home.
that random pandering moment where all the girls team up
I think my favorite take on that scene is the HISHE parody where Captain Marvel just wiped out the horde of bad guys in a single blast and flew off.

It reminds me of how Kamen Rider Zero-One had the characters talk with an Alexa-esque "therapist" to work through their issues. In hindsight, it was an obvious way to speedrun their arcs after Covid fucked up production.

Would Godzilla be considered a mutant, or he more like a Hulk?

I have been obsessed with trying to figure out.

Just who is Ultimate Kang.

Is it Tony Stark?
Is it Ultimate Sue?
Is it Ultimate Victor, whose fate is still unknown unlike other characters?
Is it Ultimate Doom Reed?

And the Maker knows who he is.

As well as Kang referring to the Maker as a false prophet.

And I think they might be setting up Dr Doom against the Maker.

Since who else at this point, can take on the current version of Doom.

I posted some mentions so far.

Not that it makes it any better but didn't that come from the Ultimate comics? The same universe that created Reed Richards The Maker

Godzilla and Marvel are having a crossover event altogether, not just with X-Men. Basically everyone is going at him. F4, Avengers, X-Men, Hulk, Spidey, Thor. Everyone is getting their dino fix alright. I knew this was coming the day Marvel's Godzilla omnibus was announced. Still epic though.

Sure but you have to think about the culture.
Everyone is depressed these days, everyone is a doomer, people don't want to watch a depressing movie right now in 2025.
All the "subversive" media is tanking because people just want classic escapism again.
I really think that Superman trailer is so popular because it legit makes people smile in a world full of miserable shit.
This will tank.
It might get a fanbase later on but theatrically, this is losing $100+ million.

it won't be the same without JJJ using his super power of yelling to slow down Godzilla while the other heroes get their shit together

Do you think this could lead to a renaissance of DC movies or kickstart a new cinematic universe the same way Iron Man did back in 2008?
Not like that.
There won't be any $2 billion capeshit anymore, not for many years.
However, they can keep a steady flow of $600-800 million per movie if they keep making quality.
Gunn's superhero stuff is reliable financially and critically so what matters is what the other directors will do.

As for Superman, what they really have to hit is the characters.
The action in the new MCU is solid but you don't care about anybody or anything, that's why those movies fail.
No Way Home worked because people care about Tobey and Wilem.

That's what Hollywood doesn't get with these movies.
Endgame made $2.7 billion because, when Cap picked up the hammer, you weren't cheering because your favorite action figure got a new weapon that is +10 Strength and it unlocks Lightning Bolt ability, you cheer because "OMG! STEVE IS WORTHY! ARE YOU MOTHERFUCKERS SEEING THIS?!?"
You care because you've been watching this guy for 10 years and you like him.
Now Marvel thinks that they can just pass the mantle to some nigga side character played by an unlikable racist fuck and everyone will eat it up.

I feel like all the Justice League shit in Superman will be one 15 minute flashback scene where we get a quick introduction to all the main members for future movies.
That scene has to be good for this universe to work.
They fail that and the whole DCU collapses.

I'm actually not surprised Thunderbolts is allegedly getting good reviews.

Imagine actually giving fans characters they actually want to see like Bucky Barnes and John Walker instead of (checks notes) Kamala Khan and Ironheart?
