I hope this game flops badly when it does come out and that it can also kill the shitty V5 setting with it as well, tbh.

There, I said it.

Paradox knows jackshit about making an action RPG in the vein of oh I suppose Dishonored or Deus Ex, their wheelhouse is rts and city builders.
Paradox is just a publisher, they own the IP and gave it to some chucklefucks who have never made an RPG before knowing full well the game is going to sell and be anticipated on the merit of it being Bloodlines sequel, they got Mitsoda on board (probably to give it some credence that one of the original guys were involved considering him and his fingerless sperg gloves were front in center of the game's marketing) just to replace him with the umpteenth narrative lead.

i'm just hoping the shareholders are tired of the sunk cost and force the studio to shart out a big stinky abortion so we can witness another melty over video gaming in 2023.

>mfw Paradox fumbles the VTM IP by being cheap as fuck

One of my friends is so Stockholm'd that he thinks this will be good. Godspeed.

They literally will never let it die off. Paradox bought the IP, and they are going to force through the second game no matter how much money they burn, how many builds they throw away completely, and no matter how many companies they have to go through to try and make it at least competent... at least until it reaches a financial breaking point.

This is the flagship in their mind, so it's going to come out no matter what. Even if it gets trapped in further dev hell for a time. They've tossed on one company... what's another two or three if the final product works?

I don't know if I like the choice they made for developers. The Chinese Room is known for making mostly walking simulators and have never made a RPG before. The trailer looks kind of cool but overall I'm still not expecting much.

Ooooooh-hohohoho... these are the guys who made Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. aka, the one nobody fucking liked.

This game is fucked. The launch is going to be amazing.

So they clearly did away with the original premise of being a thinblood and gaining a clan later on in the game, given you're now apparently an elder

Given the studio involved I suspect they are essentially replacing one trash fire with what will inevitably be another trash fire. The studio does not have a good reputation at all

The Chinese Room
I am expecting lots of walking, with the occasional option for first-person combat and some self-indulgent story.

I'm not expecting any of the charm, humor, or self-awareness of Bloodlines 1.

This game's development is like a NASCAR crash happening in slow motion. Hopefully the launch is going to be the part where it goes up in a firey blaze.

I played the first game last year for the first time. I liked it enough that I bought a physical copy of it off Ebay. I don't think the sequel will be released any time soon. It would be nice if it was a good game. But it has a pretty high standard to live up to. The first game is pretty good. Maybe if someone could do a decent remaster or remake of the first game and not screw it up that would be nice. The first game was a total mess on launch and pretty much unplayable.

The stuff you can see on Steam for VtM2 looks good. But actual gameplay is what counts.

Feels like every vampire game in every setting for the better part of a decade has been trash. They might have waited for the current wave of mediocrity to blow over and thrown a few years in between but nah, can't have that. Too soon to see if this winds up dead like the last attempt but it should be entertaining either way.

Eh, I wasn't expecting much anyway, so it's nice to know at least just how low the bar has to actually be.

Assuming the game doesn't get delayed into oblivion and becomes actual vaporware, I might wind up being the stupid bastard who winds up getting this and shitting on it here, but I like a good dumpster fire every once in a while, so my taste is fucked anyway.

I feel like this game is getting anti-hyped. Anyone savvy should know that this game stands virtually no chance of being good, but there must be some lower limit to how terrible it could possibly be. Hell, we may even see the vidya equivalent of a dead cat bounce with people warming to it ever so slightly just because it didn't turn out to be the worst game to ever exist.
