Worse, they're supposedly tying the game now to recent political events. It's BLM and Antifa with Vampires. So they apparently gutted the original narrative and whatever sticks and twigs of it were left, they added political bullshit tied to it from a brand new diversity hire writer.
Shit is beyond fucked.
Mind you it comes out in 2021 now, so it's going to be heavily dated by that point.

Considering the butchered trashfire that is the setting of Vampire 5th Edition (which Bloodlines 2 is using, btw) then I'm pretty sure that it's already beaten The Last of Us 2 if you include the base tabletop RPG along with this oncoming trainwreck of a game

Jack hasn't been touched on in canon as of late to my knowledge but Nines is actually one of the few characters that I feel is being written better these days. Instead of a bleeding heart ancilla he's portrayed as in Bloodlines, the newer stuff paints him as a reluctant and jaded leader of the Anarch Movement. He's got a character arc that kind of has parallels to MacNeil (basically OG Nines), where MacNeil eventually became disillusioned and fucked off.
The unfortunate part is you have to watch multiple episodes of LA By Night where Annabelle cries like a bitch every session.

As much as i think there is some power struggle at this point its still hard for me to think that they would be even able to completely overwrite Mitsodas work.
That would require them remaking probably like 1/4 of the game from scratch.
Its much more plausible that they would just remove "areas of contention" like maybe specific characters or situations that they feel offended by.
I know this whole situation is a bummer but lets be realistic.

No way is Nines a bleeding heart in VtMB. Dude grew up during the Depression, and is extremely cynical about the wealthy and powerful, and until you prove yourself to him, thinks you're too young and naive to last long without him watching your back 24/7. He even condescendingly tells you "This ain't the 'burbs." He also says, "All you can do is find a group of guys you agree with and stick together." as his philosophy or something similar as you talk to him in The Last Round. Is he entirely too generous and caring for his own good in the World of Darkness? Sure. But he's not a bleeding heart who thinks all the world's solutions are an easy fix, especially when he has to keep Skelter and Damsel from tearing each other's throats out every night. Oh, and he single-handedly kills a werewolf and takes the head as a trophy.

Between this and 5th ed and on reflection trying to move the narrative away from Sabbat vs Carmarilla has been a horrible misfire either in conception or execution. Anarch ressurgance should have been way more interesting than this mess.

It's sad seeing what happened to White Wolf and the World of Darkness franchise, really.
Between Justin Achilli's infamous pretentious douchebag antics at the turn of the millennium, the gutting done by the Eve Online guys, the brief second wind that came with Vampire 20th's early material, and then the subsequent woke insanity of Onyx Path Publishing and Paradox have more or less killed it for good, the company that was one of the most influential in the hobby is now an unfunny joke.
It's really sad when you compare the complete train wreck that is the V5 material and Onyx Path's output for the New World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness to the early stuff from the 90's, which still holds up even today.
Hell, a lot of the more detested stuff like Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand are actually pretty good if you want a more gonzo beer and pretzels kind of game.
Hell, the "Vampions/Trenchcoats & Katanas/D&D with fangs" was actually a popular way to play the tabletop game back in the early days and wasn't seen as some sort of mortal sin by the White Wolf staff or the fanbase at the time like it is now.
I'm not entirely sure what all happened aside from the stuff that's already documented, maybe there's a Gypsy curse on White Wolf? Fuck if I know.
But what I do know is that Stewart Wieck is rolling in his grave right now and the big-titty goth girlfriend is rolling on top of him.

The pretentious players might have grown up and become the writers. Those that presented themselves as WoD(specifically Vampire) super-fans were pretentious morons. Normal people just played the game for fun.
