What if it's a purposeful time loop? The whole bit with the original prophecy, then Gerson's books, then Dragon Blazers, what if the point is to cause so many retellings, so many permutations and iterations, that they finally create a happy ending? That's pretty in-line with the meta plot so far, and it seems very Toby-esque.

Alphys down bad. Asgore better run, she's gonna be thirsting for him now that Undyne is knightbait.

So sort of like what The Big O did (or at least tried doing)?

How would butcher shops work or is everyone vegan
Monsters aren't animals, animals are still animals. Susie mentions Kris having a cage for a pet bird and doesn't seem weirded out by the idea despite bird people existing.

I assume a butcher shop would do fine.

Monsters in Undertale also seemed to eat meat, given burgers and shit existed. So they probably aren't too bothered by it.

Deltarune's a nice game. Ain't it strange though, that the game still expects you to keep playing as Kris after he essentially betrayed everyone and everything right in front of you?
It feels like the game kind of ignored that.
Well, our vessel is kinda AWOL so who else are we going to meat-puppet? Now, if my choices actually mattered, I'd probably start peeling Kris' fingernails off one by one until he let me close my eyes and imagine what the Knight looks like, but they dont so

Nothing kills a role playing game faster than the lack of synergy between player and narrative. In-universe, I should be livid that Kris is on the side of Darkness, but the game doesn't care at all. I was given a task, and this player character seems like he will never allow that task to be accomplished, and I don't get to act on it.

I would never tell a story like this. It essentially takes the role-playing out of the role-playing game. Because I cannot play a role. Kris made a Dark Fountain, and I'm supposed to seal them? Game doesn't care.

I made my peace with the fact that I'm not Kris. gave me incentive not to care about any of the characters he interacts with or whatever happens at home. After all, they'll never talk to me.
I cannot make peace with the fact that the mission, which is the only thing the play can care about (since they were sent into Deltarune for a purpose) has been made incompletable.

Kris is a Mossad agent

He exchanges intel with ralsei when Ralsei distracts us

He already did that with Asriel in Undertale.

Makes me kinda wonder if we're going to get some weird transposition of Flowey when Asriel finally shows up.
From how people in Hometown talk about him, he seems to be a total weenie. A bit weird to think about since there's only a few bits of dialogue of Asriel being a normal kid before he becomes an unfeeling, save abusing bugman brained flower

I don't think there's a dissonance between between the player and the plot. We were told right at the start that none of our choices matter. Also, we don't know why Kris is doing what he's doing. Who knows what the long game is. This is the first game in a long time for me where I've been invested in the plot and characters. Is Undyne okay? Is the knight someone we know? Why is the knight? What are Titans, really? Why does Susie eat chalk? How close does Noelle put the chair to the bed when she watches? So many questions.
