I hope they kill Windows 11 next so we can go back to complaining about Windows 10 getting updates instead

literal skill issuethe true risk of Troonix is that it will induce gender disease in many who touch it and you are not safe from that
i mean he was trying to learn from me because troonix isnt hard for me so i guess, i run a dual boot and see real usage in itliteral skill issue
they need to revive windows 7 and just give it security updates like 10 or 11 LTSCI hope they kill Windows 11 next so we can go back to complaining about Windows 10 getting updates instead
That would require admitting they fucked up. You’re better off hoping someone releases the source code for Windows 7 and starts maintaining it independentlysome people daily drive windows 7 and somehow managed to get modern software APIs running on it so its very possible and doable that microjeet could just revive Win7 to get good PR
its already being done with classic 7 by moddersThat would require admitting they fucked up. You’re better off hoping someone releases the source code for Windows 7 and starts maintaining it independently
The GDID moral panic is overblown. The court reporting didn't go into the technicalities of how it tied together with the telemetry data but the way I read it is this: when the telemetry data is sent, it's tied to the GDID. This GDID is local, it's randomized, and Microsoft doesn't have the means to remotely de-anonymize you based on it. It's also why it'll generate without a Microsoft account, it's all a part of the telemetry system that originated in 2015. But in that specific court case, the moron that got got had negative opsec. He ran unhardened Windows, did all of his personal shit on the same Windows machine he used to ransom businesses, and he used Edge, which is how his browsing history landed in the telemetry data. Most importantly, the only reason he got de-anonymized by that GDID was because the feds already had physical access to his machine.all you have to do is run the DeGDID script and use protect and decoy and it breaks any and all GDID based tracking
It's something I've been thinking about as well. People love to moral panic about Microsoft 24/7, or LG TV's spying on you, or whatever else hits the news cycle. One, I hate it because people trivialize things that should be discussed in-depth so that you know what's the problem instead of generalizing the issue to a brand name. Two, it's insanely counterproductive because the entire Internet will kvetch about the newest news cycle thing, but what alternatives are there? Is anyone talking about what other choices you have? No! Everyone just wants to complain instead of promoting alternatives. And if there are no alternatives, or the alternatives suck, why is no one stepping up to make alternatives that are good? Oh, that takes effort! And people only want to complain! It's especially evident with how many vocal Windows haters will still use Windows because they find switching to Linux inconvenient.I think making people panic less about windows and showing them they have options is a lot more realistic than forcing people into Troonix
Unlikely. IIRC shit like VoLTE is covered in all sorts of licensing where the SoC has to have support for it, and the built-in modems tend to only have the shit needed for an Internet connection. Is it possible to make VoLTE calls on a Windows tablet with a 4G modem?
disagreeThere are some really intuitive distros like Nobara, Bazzite, CachyOS, or Garuda
so they're not actually intuitive? why Linux cannot into setup.exe??but even then they require an understanding of things like sandboxing and dependencies and package managers to get basic software working
It ain't happening.I hope they kill Windows 11 next so we can go back to complaining about Windows 10 getting updates instead
LTSC 2027 is coming, and it'll be based on 27H2 once that's out. But for whatever reason Microsoft keeps shipping smaller feature updates like the ability to move the taskbar in Patch Tuesday updates, usually disabled by default, so the version numbers don't make that much sense really.Feature updates on LTSC used to be every 2-3 years, so it may or may not be happening soon.
The thing that's most likely to fuck your shit up are the big updates like the current jump to 26H2, and LTSC 2024 is stuck on 24H2 with a longer update cadence. That, and having less stuff installed by default, which is more due to LTSC being based on Enterprise editions, are the only real benefits of LTSC. You can get to roughly the same spot by using MAS to switch to an Enterprise version, running WinUtil and doing a few manual tweaks afterwards if you want to stay on the GAC release cycle. What's the point of LTSC if Microsoft will keep cramming in new features? I thought it's all about stability.
Next time, go to Settings > Windows Update and pause the updates for two days. And if you really need steady uptime, use Linux.Awesome, Windows 11 updated to 25h2 at midnight when my agent was working. Gotta love winblows doing shit in the background
