Whatever designer thought it was a good idea to auto restart the goddamn laptop every night needs to eat a shotgun. I lost about 10 hours of simulations.

Fuck me for not being a linux fag about my technical work.

Nigger retard Slav Jank here will tell you that you were too dumb not to disable updates (that some how get turned on anyway). How hard is it for Microshit to add a feature called manual updating? I can see why they do the auto updating because goyim but bro

Which never happens by the way. Maybe in your fantasy world it does, but I live in reality. I went months without an update on Windows 10 after I set a single group policy setting to stop Windows Update. All because I had a faulty update that would cause bootloops and reinstall itself after I rolled it back. On Windows 10 that was apparently the last good Windows, and only Win11 gets these sort of serious breakages, where I'm yet to encounter a bootloop like that.

But I'm sure I'm wrong and you'll correct me with the only source to support your claims being "trust me bro". That's all you ever have. That and running to jannies to maintain your hugboxes.

Sorry I was too stupid to think of that. Maybe troonix and wintards finally come to a realisation that maybe actually putting those options into a UI would be a good idea. Maybe I don't want to spend time searching for a solution for a dumb problem after work. I'm too old for this shit. Kill yourselves

You have to tweak the registry or go into some setting. But yes, I unniggered my laptop just now.

They should have kept this one by default.

(Granted you can still change to this, but first impressions matter)
Its genuinely still my favorite distro, its like the perfect middle ground between just-works and advanced

Its given me far less issues than Mint or even Ubuntu and Firedragon works on windows and Mac if you decide to dual boot

You know why I despise Linux and Linux users so much? They're all lying two-faced assholes. All of them. Louis Rossmann had a point with the whole "don't accept the premise of assholes" thing. Linux users are those assholes. They expect you to know every little technical detail about Linux and always be as truthful and thorough when talking about it, where they'll jump in and correct you on even the slightest mistake. They'll go on a tirade if you say that "you have to do everything in a command line on Linux".

But when it comes to Windows? Oh that's Microslop so like, we can blatantly lie about it and if anyone tries to correct us we'll just insult them and say they're corpo shills, suck Bill Gates' cock or are pajeets. They love to poster that they're pragmatists, yet every time I had the displeasure of interacting with one, I met an emotional lunatic instead that refuses to apply pragmatism to software they personally dislike. Of course, they'll act like it's only a "loud minority", except that I'm yet to encounter someone of that silent majority that doesn't have all the same traits that make me despise the Linux world so much.

I hate nothing more than people who actively lie to my face and try to gaslight me into believing I'm wrong. All of my interactions with Linux users online were nothing but that. So I'm glad that Linux is gaining more market share from gamers, I hope that the entire Linux desktop ecosystem gets thoroughly enshittified by Linux users finally getting their wish and having any sort of relevance. I hope they'll seethe about the "normification" of FOSS because they deserve every single fucking bit of it for doing nothing but lying and gaslighting everyone for over three decades.

It's tweaking the registry to keep it at W112023 (the last usable Windows version) assuming if this is Windows 11 actually.

Most people ignore Linux is ran by DEI wokies which is really only slightly better and only because the United Nations Jeets were just that bad.

Troonix users seethe when you have to do technical things on Windows via the command line or group policy editor, Windows can be shockingly technical if you aren't a nigger about it and that allows you to harden it to be as secure and private as linux

Troonix idealists also rarely mention that Linux is extremely janky and is basically held together with duct tape, like the xz exploit that could have basically taken the whole fucking internet offline if the one guy maintaining it didn't regain control at exactly the right time

Troonix users forget that normal people also struggle to troubleshoot windows even with the GUI and the command prompt and powershell exist for a reason when the GUI is not enough

I used to run command line prompts to access the EFI partition to remove my dual boot entry for whatever linux distro I was distrohopping on that day when it broke, then I discovered VisualBCD

I feel like technical Windows users are a more tightly knit community of pragmatic problem solvers because they don't poison their minds with ideology. It's the ideology that makes Linux users refuse to admit any shortcomings of the Linux ecosystem, instead resorting to lies and gaslighting to make themselves believe it's the most perfect thing ever that doesn't need fixing. It's the same poison that makes them dismiss anything Windows or Microsoft related, their entire existence pivots around their hatred towards Microsoft and it's been that way ever since GNU/Linux became a thing back in the early 90's.

I actually tend to agree with Stallman a lot just because he is very pragmatic and can admit to shortcomings of FOSS, understands why people may prefer proprietary software and he is fine with people using proprietary software as long as they're away what freedoms they're sacrificing by doing so. It's funny, he's presented as this radical boogeyman of the FOSS world, yet to me he is one of the last rational figures in the space.

Windows users don't delude themselves. Microsoft sucks. Windows sucks. It's a pile of shit, but the alternatives are even bigger piles of shit, so they have decided that the best course of action is to identify issues Windows has and fix them. It's not a black box either, this is a myth Linux users love to repeat because in their minds the code has to be open source to be able to do anything. It doesn't, even though Windows is closed source and not everything is documented, we have the tools to prod and test and manipulate it to fix it. That's why Mark Russinovich created the Sysinternals suite. That's why Michael Maltsev made Windhawk.

Instead of laying down and whining about how bad things are, it's better to work on improving them. And in case of Windows, people will gladly do so, as they care about having a good experience first, and they don't care about being ideological twats. Linux users are ideological twats first and foremost, which is why they refuse to fix decades long issues, they don't care about having a good experience, they care about having their own little cult. The few pragmatists left in the Linux world are people like Linus Torvalds, who is unsurprisingly bashed by the Linux users whenever he makes a statement stemming from his painfully pragmatic mindset. Like his talk on desktop Linux that's still true to this day, that to this day Linux users try to discredit by attacking his character or using anecdotal evidence. Because deep down they know he was right and their ego is too big to ever admit any fault.

The problem with Linux is that everytime a Linuxfag makes something it goes like this.

"Look at this cool software application I made! It's only useful in this extremely niche theoretical situation but wow just think of the potential!"

"What are the practical application of such software?"

"Practical applications?"

I'm not all opposed to R&D or innovation but eventually you need to make viable products and not just endless proof of concept projects and Linuxtroons seem to be too autistic to understand or accomplish this.
