The m2 that I was mentioning was actually a NVMe (a Samsung 970 EVO to be more exact) so my mistake and apologies for not being clear enough. Though I still doubt the differences between a NVMe and a sata SSD are significant enough for the loading times of videogames.
There's more to loading than transferring data and benchmarks routinely show that a SATA ssd(capped at ~500MB/s) and an NVMe(~4,000MB/s) perform very similar to each other in loading times. The NVMe will be faster but it won't be eight times faster.
SATA SSDs on top, PCIe 4.0 at the bottom.

Compare to another scenario, decrypting and installing a game, a task that is more dependent on pure read/write.

Even as a non-PC gamer a few of them stood out to me, before I even looked I had System Shock in mind (I heard BioShock is like a spiritual successor to the series or something).

But yeah, most of them don't seem to be around anymore except Elder Scrolls and FarCry. We'd know if Mist was still getting games, it'd have a dumb name like "Rain: The Sequel to Riven Which Was the Sequel to Mist".
When System Shock 2 had a console it could be ported to(PS2) it was already getting a Deus Ex port and I think they had to rework things and cut some corners there.

I think a contributing factor to consoles not getting some PC games is the cost of devkits. Plus Daggerfall is jank as fuck and the save files would probably explode the PS1 memory card.
A game like Severence is a technical marvel that didn't run great on top-end PCs at the time so that goes out the door.

Realms of the Haunting is a great game that would work well on consoles but it's too much for the PS1 hardware and it would be ridiculed and ignored for its graphics if ported to the DC or PS2. That might have been something that stopped developer from bringing over their games.

Playstation and the N64 got ports of the first Rainbow Six, back when they were ultra spergy tactical games, and I can't imagine what a nightmare that must have been to play.

Destruction Allstars wasn't made by Sony itself though. Lucid is an independent studio currently.

They're also British which explains why the characters look like they do.

Actually, the character on Destruction Allstars is hideous because she's from a PlayStation exclusive. Here's a British-designed character who debuted in an N64 game, that later became an Xbox exclusive series:

PlayStation: Not even once.

That's the old version of Jonah Dark, you really think Microsoft will keep the same look for a reboot after what they did to Cortana?

Like they put out a new diversity campaign every other month.

Due to an expiry bug, all digitally owned PS3 and Vita games have been rendered unplayable.
Classic PlayStation games like Chrono Cross are seemingly "expiring" on PS3 and PlayStation Vita, even for players who had legitimately bought the games through Sony's own storefronts.

As reported by Kotaku, PlayStations users have taken to social media on discovering that the hitherto unknown "expiration dates" on their digital games have reportedly expired.

When trying to re-download the classic version of Chrono Cross, one user reports he received a noticed telling him that his licence to play the game had expired on 31st December, 1969.

Similarly, another player was given the same message when trying to access Chrono Cross on PS3.

Though at first, some cynical souls thought this was a sneaky ploy to funnel players into trying out the new Chrono Cross remaster, similar issues have seemingly popped up for players trying to access their copies of Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy Origins, War of the Lions, and Rune Factory: Oceans. One Vita user even reports that their entire digital catalogue is inaccessible.

As yet, there's been no formal word yet on why the error has occurred, nor any solutions to fix it, although some Vita owners have had limited success "refreshing" their PS Plus subscriptions by purchasing an additional month. We'll up you as and when Sony comments on the matter.

Digital Foundry has more bad news for Chrono Cross fans, I'm afraid, as the remaster seems to "runs worse on PS5 than the original on PS1".

"If you don't have the original Chrono Cross to hand, then the remaster still has some value," Thomas opined in his overview. "If you pick up the Switch release, playing in handheld mode drops the resolution to 720p, bringing the 2D and 3D elements closer together in presentation. And regardless of platform, the story, gameplay and atmosphere of Squaresoft's classic JRPG still resonate in 2022 - despite some of the technical and artistic limitations.

"Ultimately then, this remaster is something of a disappointment. Chrono Cross is an undoubted cult classic, but the Radical Dreamers Edition underperforms in terms of both visuals and performance. While some issues might be able to be fixed post-launch, the challenges here should prompt questions at Square Enix as to the validity of their approach to porting PlayStation classics."

Had this happen with my VITA Pinball Arcade, which sucks because the Williams tables moved to Pinball FX3 and suck on that, and thought maybe it had something to do with my PS Sub but I could have sworn I bought it. Maybe this has something to do with switching to the new PS Sub thing?

Something something a decaying developer meets a launch failure.
Square Enix has been shitting out ports of older games like there's no tomorrow, this was just a cash grab on the Chrono Cross/Trigger nostalgia, nothing more, they've pretty much exhausted as much as as they can without milking the franchise dry from FF and DQ, time to go on to greener pastures square and actually make new/better games, not this rehashed shit that's arguable and inferior product.

Not exactly the same, but it kinda reminds me how they absolutely butchered the Crystal Chronicles Remastered multiplayer with a stupid code system, making one of the major mechanics of the game an absolute chore to set up, and playing with a companion is almost necessary in that Crystal Chronicles games compared to the DS ones, since you can't control AI characters on your own and Mog is basically garbage and has to act as a health shield all the time so you don't die from constant miasma damage.

To be fair for a bit here Square has a history of making bad ports for Playstation consoles, even when they were on top of everything.
I own a copy of Chrono trigger for the PS1 and the load times on it are unbearable.

To this day it's the only affordable version of the original CT. Both the SNES and DS versions have gone way up.

Not like its on Steam, granted it also sucked when it was released on PC but they eventually fixed it.

I nearly didn't buy chrono trigger on DS but at the last moment, I remembered that eBay """""""investors"""""""" are a thing, and that launch price would be the last time I would be able to afford it.
Wasn't just eBay that was doing that, stores on Amazon were also. I remember how much of a Pain in the ass it was to try to get SMT: Nocturne at a decent price until Atlus rereleased it.
