brown hands wrote this post. good to know.

back on topic, was there ever any info about if this game was why the dead by daylight devs weren't ever able to get jason for the game? or was it just because the license holders for jason charge fuck off bullshit amounts for him?
A. Referancint a Conan Doyel story, impressive
B. Mostly the whole headache with who owns the licenses for the character.

and in a lot of people's view, you should have legal recourse if steam decides to take away those games or a company decides to ignore steam and remove the download. at the moment you don't.
in most jurisdictions you ARE fucking legally protected of ownership of the LICENSE, there is a fucking binding contract between you and the company that SOLD you the license. if they remove it from your account (=possession) that's an easy breach of contract and a quick payday. you still own the license even if they make the product non-functional.
the only difference to physical is no one is coming into your home to change the dvd, or the book, or whatever. you never OWNED the actual GAME, same way you don't OWN the movie or book, you own a COPY with limited rights (which include, among other things, no redistribution, no public display etc.). ffs that goes as far as not being allowed to sell recordings of radio music or tv shows because you down own the fucking rights to it. this isn't even some newfound knowledge, it's literally decades old and has ample of precedence.

you niggers need to understand what OWNERSHIP means in this context and what the license entails. stuff like "stop killing games" exists because you niggers still buy games that allows the actual OWNER of the product to change it, as it is stated in the license.

Between its launch in 2017 to 2020 that game was some of the most fun I've ever had online gaming. Around 2021 or 22 something changed...a mix of the official servers closing and having to use peer 2 peer to play (which would cause the game to crash whenever the host started to lag) and all the fun older gamers left. Circa 2018 I would be playing with a pair of 20 something chicks , yet in 2022 it was all friggin little kids screaming into the microphone...and not just reg little kids. Black kids. No shit. Seriously the game had a major black attack circa 2022 to 2024. No idea why. But much like white flight in the suburbs...I left and never looked back.
