This new meta that started with the Minecraft movie where they "review" films without actually seeing them is just cancer. How hard is it to go and see Shelby Oaks? You can't really complain about people walking on eggshells when you can't even review the thing. These hack frauds need a good boot up the arse.
Ticket prices are insane and all, but they get to write their tickets off as a business expense.

He's got a Executive Producer credit on it. Hardly "nothing." Granted it's mostly the press celebrating that and I can't find any direct quotes from Barker saying "oh boy I can't wait to put a troon in the new movie!" but he ain't exactly denying it either.
An executive producer credit is the most nothing credit that it's possible to get on a movie.

Speaking of Clive Barker, I was scrolling through Tubi and saw there was some animated kids movie called "Night of the Zoopocalypse" that said "based on a Clive Barker story" in the description. Didn't know he did a kids movie lol.

>openly gay
>proudly subversive
>eagerly directs and/or produces films to inject subversive material to shock the audience
>tranny front-and-center in a remake of his most famous film

Yeah, I'm sure he had no input.

Wasn't Pinhead gender-swapped and played by a troon in the new one? I know Clive Barker famously hates the name "Pinhead" and is also a faggot himself whose motivation for the originals was partially to push what was then "edgy" kink so it's not a big shocker to see him mangle the series' most popular and well-known character while simultaneously letting a pervert have the spotlight too.
I'm going to be honest here and say in the book Pinhead is ""androgynous"" this is 100% intentional troon behavior on all levels.

They're interdimensional demons addicted to sadism, sexual deviance, and satanic behaviour, I fail to see what your problem is with having a transvestite play the main sadistic sexual deviant demon in this horror movie.

Not defending Barker, but he's not really trying to obfuscate the nature of his material.

Like, I doubt people are watching Hellraiser and looking at the cenobytes and saying "THAT is what I aspire to be!" and if they are, then they've got bigger problems than being influenced by a b-tier creative like Clive Barker.

Chris only got it cause he sucked the asses of everyone he could and begged for it. Really a long time ago I remember him just showing up at these Hollyweed premiers and stuff and just saying he's some big guy and loves everyone. Obviously he made friends with Flanagan doing that.
This is not how it happened. Or, at least, that's not how Chris recounted it.

On a recent episode of Movies: A Podcast About the Act of Cinema that reviewed Shelby Oakes, the host tacked on to the end an old interview that he and his co-host did with Stuckmann years ago. (It starts, audio only, at 45:45.) They had had some social media spat, and Chris came on to bury the hatchet and talk movies.

TL;DL: Chris claims he submitted scripts to The Blacklist for years under a pen name (to avoid YouTube fame impacting the feedback) until he got enough positive responses to build his confidence. He then send a script to several Hollywood guys on social media with open DMs. It seems like Flanigin actually liked the script, responded, and put him in touch with his agent.

But who knows if that's true? The host of Movies seemed to think Chris was trying to big time him by coming on the podcast, so maybe Chris isn't as nice a guy as he pretends to be in the interview.

I seem to remember him schmoozing, but it's possible I'm wrong. Maybe it wasn't Flanagan like I though if he's truthful here, but I think he was doing to at least some. It was a pretty long time ago so I might be mistaken for sure.

Since he stopped posting negative reviews, that's exactly why he did it. Sure it worked, but I don't think he proved himself with this movie. All Flanagan did was groom a very expensive yes man, and it's apparent from Chris's videos. He has no voice and nothing to say and his movie reflects that. RLM has their own voice, at least, even if they muddle it in Gen X disinterest.

That was exactly my point. Then retards started arguing "hey man he had nothing to do with the film" despite its return to his original vision for the original film in the first place. Dunno why there's so many bees in the bonnet over my pointing out a fucking tranny in a leading role of a horror movie. Seems apropos to me. Certainly increases the horror factor having a constant "blech" thing acting as a major character.

I haven't watched RLM in a while - are they seriously not bothering to go see the movie? What's the point of watching a movie review if they're going to talk about what they saw in the trailer or on Reddit?
Here's what the review should have been:
"In college we were amateur filmmakers. When youtube became our business, we continued trying to make movies. We quickly learned that it was too difficult to be both professional youtubers and professional filmmakers. We determined that it was easier and more lucrative to focus on our youtube channel, and stopped making movies. We're happy to see someone else faced with the same dilemma find success in Hollywood and we wish him the best."

Instead we got, "lol, real critics hated it and it made no money."

Ticket prices are insane and all, but they get to write their tickets off as a business expense.
That's not even all of it.
It's their job and Youtube pays.

As a soon to be an ex-fan or RLM if this shit keeps going on, allow me to rant for a moment:

I might or might not be making side cash on Youtube so I know the rates somewhat and with their longevity and viral status, they probably get decent deals on ad revenue, better than most Youtubers (you can negotiate of you have enough clout, even have others do campaigns on your behalf and they have crazy connections nowadays).
I'm 90% certain they're at $2k+ on their video where Shelby Oaks was """reviewed""".
That money + a tax write off + Patreon money for spending a day watching a few movies, then 2 days recording and editing a video.
And they make several videos per month, some of them get millions of views.
I've said it before but Mike is definitely a millionaire and Jay and Rich are making 6 figures probably.

If I was making that kind of bank on Youtube and have really famous, rich, connected people in the movie industry be fans of mine, to the point where they show up at my place multiple times for free to make content that will make me money, I would not slack off like this.

I really like Eminem's work ethic.
He has like $500 million and he still treats his job as a 9-5, he clocks in, does 8 hours, goes home, every fucking day.
That's why he's still outselling everyone as a middle aged man when his contemporaries are already washed up.
That's how you do it.

In industry terms, RLM are not hungry anymore.
They carved out a good niche for themselves online and they're doing very well.
They have a fanbase that is wild about their content and they will watch anything that has Mike, Rich and Jay in it.
It will take a significant decrease in earnings to make them start trying again.

If you haven't watched them in a while then you probably missed all the complaining about theater audiences behaving like troglodytes.
They have more than enough time to go early showings with little to no people. They also have more than enough money to rent theaters for private screenings, make it like a Best of the Worst and get a bunch of their friends to do it. There's really no excuse not to watch new movies that you're gonna be covering on your very successful movie review channel.

There's no doubt that they've been wealthy a long time.
If there's any proof of that, it's this.

aaaa.webp

Now, I don't care how Like Like Stoklasa spends his money, but this ridiculous expense doesn't reflect well on him.

You referring to the Akon interview? Where he says that he showed up at 2 in the afternoon on nigger time and when they were in the groove Eminem left at 5 because he had been there since 8 and. The workday was over and then the next day Akon showed up at 8 and Eminem was already there.

Even then there's no excuse. Their complaints about movie crowds being niggers are valid but they are paid to see and review movies. They can always just review cable and streaming original movies or something if they don't want to go to the 11am weekday showing.
