i'm no longer confident in my read on him but i think it's just a bit of the 'tism, he's always been a quirky weirdo but he seems the innocent sort of weirdo to me. he plays classical music, he's part of an orchestra in cambridge, and when you see him in his suit with his violin he doesn't actually look like a weirdo to me like he does in normal clothes—he just looks like a fat classical music nerd. idk, you be the judge.
milquetoast globohomo attitudes are very appealing to undersocialized people with poor social skills because it allows you to completely offload your morality. you dont have to decide whether you're acting ethically or not, you just have to follow a short list of explicit rules. i think that people confuse that for autism, because when you squint your eyes they look similar. except this nigga is in a community management position that assumedly requires communicating with dozens of people daily, this guy doesn't get the benefit of the doubt

not having any discretion and deflecting to higher ups used to be the best trait you could have for someone in a management position. the problem is that nowadays toeing the line earns you extra scrutiny instead of less scrutiny, and that's the worst possible scenario for someone who struggles to make decisions with negative feedback. i am certain that mod ash has not had very many confrontations or arguments in his 20 years working at jagex that would have given him the skills and the discretion necessary to deal with the modern internet

It's funny, I wanted to get back into playing osrs a little just 2 days ago after ~3 years break, then I saw this news. I can neither liquidate my high value items for a bond, nor afford it on my iron man since the price tripled since I last played and I really don't want to give jagex money now. Here's a hi-res, finely crafted image of my oldest account. Started playing in classic. View attachment 6313428
surprised you remembered the details for a 20 year old account you played for under 30 minutes

I have surfed and viewed many threads over the years on kiwifarms and have even laughed at most of the dumb shit trannies like ahuviya (hi phil) and utterly disgusting homos like Dylan Hafertepen. But this shit? It prompted me to finally make an account. Years of fans loving RS, no matter what Generation had been under with this singular update destroyed all good faith and likability. Uppity tranny woke communists finally fucking the life out of long standing franchises is something that angers irrationally and I just wanna celebrate the downfalls of said franchises when that all mighty and imaginary money finally stops rolling in. I got the whiff of woke of shit in RS3 when the sawmill got replaced with a fort you can build, it was super cool at first until a realized you could choose your gendered titled of duke, duchess....... and DUX! I cancelled my membership since then only for this to further cement the fact Body type A and Body tupe B bullshit that Runescape is a lost cause. I hope all those woke tranny bounties are worth it cause those servers are gonna deader than Team Fortress 2 pub servers pre fix era, just full of chinese/venezuelan gold farming bots pilfering resources like the parasites they are.
Enjoy the imaginary/uninterested demographic Fagex.

How so? Is there some sort of energy restriction mechanism limiting play?
No energy or artificial timegating, it's like botting in actual Runescape. If all you want to do is chop wood, you pick the tree type and leave it alone for 12-24 hours, and come back to see your stack of thousands in your bank. If you want to actually play it actively, the only skills that really facilitate that are combat(which you can also afk later once you're in rune plate and have a shitton of cooked fish saved up to safely ignore your character with auto-eating at 40% life) or some of the expansion skills like Cartography where you explore a map.

Dungeoneering is based(even on its hilariously buggy release) and if you don't like it you're Al-Kharinge.

It's only when people started treating it like a job and tried to find "efficient" ways of power leveling it versus just enjoying procedural generated mini-dungeons with the bros that it becomes a boring and tedious chore, and behold in OSRS they made The Gauntlet which is Dungeoneering made by world class faggots who need to min max and efficiency everything because having fun is for weenies.
  • relatively end game content on account of if needing a bunch of annoying and high level skill requirements
  • can only be solo'd because group content in an MMO is for idiots apparently
  • has strict timers so you can't fuck around with it
  • no incentive for actually taking your time with it, reading the lore books, enjoying all the at the time new and visually distinct content(this was before everything got a graphics update to look like wish.com WoW, having tier'd gear that actually looked different every time you went up a tier was cool because it was inside Daemonheim and having regular old steel gear look all edgy and aestheticmaxxed looks fucking retarded) or all the new bosses and enemies with their own mechanics(fuck that one that needed ice physics from the christmas events)
Oh don't get me wrong. I love Dungeoneering and thought that it was an interesting addition to the game when it first came out. I'm just saying that it does provide a sort of logical place for them to restore an older version of the game since Dungeoneering, despite being around for almost 15 years, isn't exactly one of the first things that people think of when they think of RuneScape before it was pozzed; the devs of 2009scape are trying to release a version of the game that reflects the influence of the Gowers before they left. Personally, if I could wave a magic wand and give myself an ideal version of RuneScape to play, it would be a build of the game from somewhere in 2010, after they had worked out some of the kinks in Dungeoneering (remember those ludicrously high prices for rewards when it was first released?).

And yes, the people who refuse to just enjoy some procedurally generated dungeons are total morons.

(remember those ludicrously high prices for rewards when it was first released?)
I remember the chaotics+ all those "bag" or "auto resource" items taking up a ridiculous amount of tokens, but honestly my greatest memory of Dungeoneering was how insanely buggy the launch was and how just about everything was smuggled in and out of the dungeons, and that absolutely kino login theme.
Speaking of bag or auto resource items, one thing that really blew my mind when I tried RS3 was the fact that you had extremely easy access to something called an "ore box" for mining. The ore box let you store ore up to 120 pieces per ore(meaning you could store 120 copper AND 120 tin AND 120 iron AND 120 coal AND etc.) with the only restriction being the tier of the box corresponding to the maximum tier of the ore you could store. And this is something anyone can get through very lenient smithing requirements.

It just blew my mind, and then when it came to smithing you can store ALL of your ore and bars into smelters as if they were ore banks and just smelt away. Huge departure from a skill I remember had to stick its anvils and forges way apart from each other+ a bank in order to stretch out the grind.

They know that their player base is against this stuff, otherwise they'd just poll tranny garbage.

EDIT: One good thing is I can go to Falador right now to meet people who play that aren't fags

OC opinion of the players and fans can't count, in fact even normie opinions would be wholly disregarded and virtue attacked on certain issues like this. It's just like when fuckwads say things like "no politics, but everything i believe in/letter bullshit isn't politics" etc. It's all no different than using a "current year" argument. The point is to shut down comment or reply and ram it through. Conducting things in these terms, in these ways, is part of the narrative around the "universal" acceptance of it all. As well as the "illegitimacy" of dissent. It's also a good tactic for the defense of the agenda.. If you cut out the debate, it means anyone speaking up against is automatically in the position of a new age malcontent a "complainer", with all the social baggage and conditioning (against) that goes along with it.

It's all so tiring and perverse.

I got one of these emails. There's no telling how many of them were sent out. If they activate the survey at any point, I'll report what I see.

Last night and this morning, the link pulled you to a window stating there was no survey currently taking place. Now, the recruitment phase has concluded. Either the window to take part was tiny or the survey was canceled entirely.

Makes me glad my RSN is totally separate from all my other online handles. Except for this one now lol

Same. The way I think it has the best chance of happening is if you go out of your way to be a complete dickhead to a popular OSRS personality or Jagex employee. Though way down in the official rules you'll find this paragraph:
"These rules are set out to cover the most common things which are banned. However, as all accounts belong to Jagex, we may choose to mute or ban an account for any reason at any time, even if that reason is not covered by these rules."
Though it's important to note that some of the rules aren't really enforced, such as sharing accounts.
Additionally, I also think that even if you have a heated gamer moment it only matters if there are other players around. I once tested which words were hard filtered in chat and never got hit, but the one time I called some spastic at LMS a fag I got a mute. First strike against my account ever, though it's expired now.

As an aside, I 'm genuinely impressed by the sleuthing on display. It's not that easy to find someone if you don't know their total XP or boss kill count.
What's your method of deduction?
I still remember when my first account was banned by them. I put several hours into the game and apparently cause I used runelite on a vpn they considered that a bannable offense. Obvs I made a new account with a throwaway email but It sucked after I put like 15-20 hours into that game

For some reason OSRS tracks playtime separately than RS3. His true playtime will be displayed if he logs into RS3.
If you had been playing before OSRS then picked up OSRS, you have to talk to Hans on both, then add them together. I have no idea why it's like this.

Be glad it was only 15-20 hours lol. I wonder if they thought you were a Venezuelan gold farmer? Apparently a lot of Vennies use VPNs

It's tiresome.

They will even argue "It's not a big deal. Who cares."

If it wasn't a big deal, then you faggots wouldn't have changed it. Clearly, it's a very big deal to make the change.

But really - the issue they have is that we notice it and they want us to shut up and accept it lol

Remember that there still exist people that use the same username/password/mail for everything. That’s probably why our dude can still login :smug:
@Klugii i think that’s your hint ;)
It was an old email/password (now changed) for that account, sure. I think it's more surprising that people struggle to remember passwords, unless they never memorized them in the first place. Just write them down in a notebook and throw it in your safe. Can't remember which unique email/pass you used for a site? Check the notebook. Easy.

It's amazing how criticism of this shit is always met with the same tactic of "why do you care about this, it's not like any of it is important".
Well, let me ask you: if it doesn't matter, why did they add it to the game? Answer me that and you'll find out why people care.

I don't know if this has been brought up since this update, but the construction icon has a out of place green pixel. Jagex polled it and it was voted to not be removed. Then Jagex removed it anyway and reddit rioted. But when it comes to pushing mentally ill nonsense there are no polls necessary because fuck democracy when you're on the losing side. It's honestly amazing that this crowd will call everyone fascists and then force their ideals on you without consent.

Imo after finding out about Angof I knew runescape was pozzed as a company Idk why people are now acting like this wasn't gonna happen. If everyone in current year doesn't feel it's over at the mere sight of some rainbow/tranny flag/character in their game they haven't been paying attention at anything else going on. And now that I type that I realize runescape players have been autistic about their log-cutting sim for 300 years so they probably haven't been keeping up with the current year politics. My bad carry on.
