The whole thing? Weren't many episodes lost media and the whole show was tied up in some legal red tape?
On plus the entire catalog is missing a handful of episodes. But it's not lost media, one of the animators uploaded all of them.

I'm guessing because the game is low budget and they didn't want to pay the voice actors. At least on Steam you know modders will add the voices back in.
There’s also the fact that some of those VAs may not be available for the project, I know that Tim Curry’s essentially retired at this point.

Don't they have AI shit for Spongebob now? They gotta have the technology and number of episodes to get it to work and tweak it in post.

If they use the recordings from previous episodes they still have to pay those voice actors. Which leads me to believe that it's a budget issue.

Nah, not using recordings. Using an AI that can amalgamate sentences - even making new ones - based on prior recordings. Some nerds on the internet did it for free and they must have access to a post production crew that can tweak it to make it seamless.

Didn't know VA's had residuals, though, certainly explains why some cartoons are more difficult to find hard copies of.

Game mechanics look way better than expected. Slap city already was good with momentum and it looks a bit more polished here.

Lack of VA is disappointing, but rather have no voice acting than really bad imitations like Cartoon Network Punch time did (Johnny Bravo's was particularly bad) that and as stated some of these voice actors are probably out these days, especially considering how far back some of these shows go.

Gameplay looks fun. A shame it will attract the Smash fags.

Smash fans are too busy jacking off to Sakurai the "one man developer" to do more than scoff at this game. The most you'd get from them is going on about how it's ok, but wouldn't equal to smash gameplay wise despite years of autistic moding to make games like Brawl not feel like hot dogshit.

Ulitmate isn't all that great either due to the input buffer and its a good few alternatives to smash that pushed the genre way more.

Really don't have much nostalgia for any of the cartoons I watch as a kid, but this does look like a fun smash clone.

The audio design, however, is poor, understand lack of voice acting was done for budget reasons but it really does make it seems more lifeless than it needed to be.

Also, the music seems awfully meh as well, wonder why they couldn't have used remixes of the theme and other songs from the shows.

Overall think I will sit this one out and see if they do a follow up with a bigger budget.

I've played enough smash clones to come to the conclusion that while VAs would be nice, it isn't a minus to the game for it to not have it, especially in this case. Although, I have to agree the music is pretty forgettable.

As long as the gameplay is fun, everything else is passable to me.

Got to disagree. Not saying the game needed full lines of dialogue voiced by the original cast. But hiring some people just to do grunts and sounds for attacks/ getting hit would work wonders, something that is pretty common in most fighting games since the mid-90s. Just overall makes the action more impactful and lively.

Sound effects can accomplish to same thing. Hell, the game already has effects that do that already.
