It looks very artless, as well. Veediots for the SNES had more appropriate stage art, and that was a low-effort cash grab.

The initial person-to-person gameplay footage is starting to drop. Honestly, this game looks way better in this format than the format of the trailers. I can better see character's expressions and animations and honestly they look pretty fucking sick. I'm enjoying how this game is coming together.

If we actually manage to get voiceovers on these characters, holy crap, that would be extremely exciting.

(Also Reptar's moveset looks badass as fuck.)

Pretty much just gotta hope the sales are good. Nick reaching out to top players is a good sign, they're hoping it does well. It all rides on the sales, so just hope people don't start shitting on the game week 1 because their favorite streamer hates it.

Moveset looks great, I like her ability to create a platform in midair.

The Jellyfish theme is catchy. They even added GameCube controller support for the Switch. (One of the UI buttons looks like a GameCube button.)

I hope this game successes. Smash could use competition. And this developer would get more funding to create more games.

That announcer sounds annoying, however.

They better not be hoping for more than 30 bucks on Steam. Anything higher for something that's most likely only going to last a few weeks is a definite no go with the amount of content on display here.

With the acknowledgement that you can't really expect a game as polished as smash ult right out the door, what I've seen feels like... i don't know, a minimum viable product build - the build where technically, everythings playable and you could release it now, but if you give it another month or two, you'll really bring everything to life.

Keep in mind that the devs were working with a low budget and probably a strict deadline. I doubt they had enough money or time for something like better visuals or VA work when they planned on giving this game things like rollback netcode.

If the game is successful enough, they could invest more into improving it visually and they have mentioned that they were looking into including voice acting.
