Looks fun. Surprised Ren & Stimpy are being represented given the controversy with the creator John K. I assume they added Nigel because of his meme status.

For a sec I thought it was going to be a shitty mobile game, glad thats not the case

I guess Viacom or whoever owns Nick has the rights to Ren & Stimpy over John K. I was surprised too. I guess they're trying to get goodwill back for Ren & Stimpy after APC (Adult Party Cartoon) and John K's allegations.

It looks decent. Nick has an ensemble of characters from past and present; it'll certainly be a nostalgia trip at least. Now it needs depth and differentiation to compete.

The devs have said it will have wave-dashing and other things from Smash Bros. and it will have rollback netcode. So, there ya' go. That's why I debated posting this in the Smash thread or not.
 
This looks like it had at least some effort put in.
Also if they include XJ-9 that model is getting put into SFM faster than a speeding bullet.
 
Looks neat, but when has there ever been a good Nickelodeon game aside from Battle from Bikini Bottom that seems to be the zoomer generation's Banjo-Kazooie?

I'm curious if they're gonna use Helga's creepy altar to Arnold in some way

TFW it's gonna have better online than Ultimate.

Weird character choices for the trailer. Like Burnt Toast Man instead of Ren or Stimpy? Reptar instead of any of the Rugrats?

Ren & Stimpy are coming. There's an image of the box cover with silhouettes and one of them is unmistakably Ren. With the Rugrats I presume Nick doesn't want to see the babies getting the shit beaten out of them. Probably why Nigel is there too because they don't want a little girl with glasses getting fucked up by the Ninja Turtles.
 
I have it on good authority that @Y2K Baby is planning on attending tournaments and will represent Helga and Courtney Gripling from As Told By Ginger (if she's added) so he can form a team #MeanGirls squad.

'Rollback Netcode is a prediction-based netcode. When another player’s input comes through, if it didn’t match the predicted input, the game will rollback the state of the game to the last correct state. It will then replay the players’ revised inputs back until the current frame.'

basically it's the anti-lag netcode.

Basically. The game will 'rollback' if it detects lag or desyncs and generally works better on worse/distant connections over 'delay' netcode, that adds frame delay to maintain synchronization, which can suck dick if your opponent is on wifi.
 
the roster 's kind of dumb considering which properties bring in the most attention. it probably should have included more characters from spongebob (squidward and mr. krabs are obvious inclusions) and fairly oddparents (timmy turner with fairies, mr. crocker, maybe the crimson chin or jorgen von strangle for the easy captain falcon reskin), because they're the most reliably profitable
I would pay good money to hear Jay Leno ham it up as the crimson chin, just saying
