you can rescue some lore from the shit kojima wrote after 3
1.- big boss mercenary arc
2.- big boss being a shit father to liquid
3.- young solid snake at foxhound

you can make a legit good game with those things. add kojima power ranger shit and you have something cooking
While this is all true, there was no way Kojimbo wasn't going to completely fuck up the backstory with the Boss WWII prequel he wanted to do instead of TPP. Maybe Konami can do better.

At this point I would prefer them just do a Metal Gear remake and just fill in the blanks with things with Liquid instead of the abortion that was baby Liquid in TPP.

"Filling in the blanks" is what already got us some of the least satisfying writing in the history of media. People need to accept that the entire Metal Gear timeline is incoherent, contradictory nonsense created on an ad hoc basis over a 30 year period by a wannabe auteur who thinks himself far more clever and creative than he actually is.

Whatever vague ideas you have in your head will always be more satisfying than "finally it will be revealed canonically how Liquid Snake got his iconic trench coat!"

If we ever get an actual MGS6/a new story that isn't a remake, I bet the remaining old-guard MGS devs/Konami would heavily consider trying to throw Kojima a huge stack of cash for some kind of '''game advisor''' role so that they can get good PR and slap on their marketing the shit is "Kojima Approved™" to win over all the dicksuckers.

The problem is Kojima was done writing after 3 but caved in to fan demand for more. I don't hate 4 but I wish it had more actual gameplay. Phantom Pain was absolutely unfinished. I still have my collectors edition with the disc showing the cut ending. I didn't think it was bad, but the side ops got repetitive real fast and I didn't even bother doing them all. It really needed more substance and less filler.

He is sporadically unable to distinguish between red and white.
If this had just shown up on the Internet one day claiming to be a lost cutscene from MGSV, I'd still know it's legit because it's that perfect mixture of pointless melodrama and mind-bending retardation. They say great writers make every line of a screenplay serve multiple functions, but only Kojima can write whole paragraphs that do nothing at all.

CHAPTER VII: WHERE DID HIS SHIRT GO

also wasn't that the official Foxhound trench coat, i.e. Big Boss had one in MGS4? what we truly need revealed is the Foxhound fashion designer, who either has a monumentally stupid name or is dressed like fetishbait, but also was born on a battlefield and tells us about it in a cutscene.

See, AI can just replace Kojima, it's basically indistinguishable.

My only note is that AI doesn't know about rotary fabric cutters

but probably neither does Kojima, so it's cool.

(You could dual-wield a matched set and have 'em be pearl-handled, natch. Also the electric ones, for people truly cutting fabric on a production scale, are scary.)

Anyway, sounds like AI is a go for writing the lore; now Konami just needs to program a Metal Gear dress-up gatcha game for cell phones.

What really caught me off-guard is the fact that the codec conversation it generated is legitimately funny and entirely perfect in-character.

better writing than paramedic turning into dr clark. kojima you fucking hack
And that could have been redeemed with showing Para-Medic, as Dr. Clark, sperging out about various clone-related and noncon-cyborging movies.

We didn't get to see her trying to talk Big Boss into getting cloned while she gushed about The Boys from Brazil, or watch her torture Grey Fox while nattering about how he's gonna be Robocop IRL. She's a major cinephile and has early-Otacon social graces; that would have made a nuanced character, even if you shoehorn in a "medical ethics? lol" heel turn.

My headcanon is that Paramedic was also Dr. Madnar, Dr. Marv, Huey, Sokolov, Gene, Dr. Strangelove, and Naomi Hunter herself (with increasingly contrived and retarded explanations for how any of that is possible), in accordance with the Law of Conservation of Doctors.

I'm not implying it would've been good. I'm saying it would've been finished.

None of the other Metal Gear plots are particularly good, but they do all end.
I get what you're trying to say, but the game *was* finished. That was always the way Kojima intended for it to go.

The writing and cutscenes were done long before Kojima got shit canned. I'm pretty sure Kojima Production devs flat out said Kingdom of the Flies was cut because Kojima was afraid it took away from the Venom Snake reveal, not because they ran out of time or budget.

We literally saw ending cutscenes in trailers years before the game came out.

Mati posting. I liked the fox engine from mgs5, I think delta should've used that. I hate this Unreal 5 epic games nigger shit.
A friend pointed out to me "maybe they don't even have any employees left who know how to use the fox engine anymore", it would be a shame if that is true. People online keep saying "it's the art style bro", but these game titles using UE5 look all samey to me.

They should just make a whole different series influenced and inspired by Metal Gear Solid. Leave the series be already and move on.

It sold 1m on release day. Metal Gear sistrrs are we back?

MGS4 and 5 sold way more and I doubt this will even get half as much as either title eventually got.
