It's all kind of infodumped via exposition from the balloon-titted Sigma Virus-formed OC Erato at the very last few story stages.

Most of it is basically ViA pretending to be mysterious because he needs the player to become good enough to kill him, and he and his "sister" iCO (who he keeps hitting on along with hitting on Iris) keep going back and forth about when he is going to explain himself. I just condensed it into the relevant bit.

No, she does not.

iCO basically became popular because she is a tsundere archetype who showed more skin than usual, and therefore got a bunch of gooner simps.

What happened in the collab in question was that X got a normal Shagaru Magala armor, and iCO got a furry-esque Gore Magala armor with her leggings ripped up, clawed feet and hands, and her tits hanging out. The armor's effects include the Frenzy virus as in MH Sunbreak, so they fought (and it was implied iCO was winning because of course). That's it.

The Zero recolor, named ViA, looks like Zero because he is the original form of the Maverick Virus.

In his X5 ending, Zero gets a memory of Wily building him and remembers that the old man was making a "Robot Destroy Program." English players never got that bit because it was mistranslated, and it was never explained what it is. That's who ViA is, a personification of the Robot Destroy Program. DiVE's story is basically all about explaining a line in Zero's X5 ending.

I was a little closer than expected with the name, but that's not as terrible as I expected. It is kinda silly though, there's no good reason he should look like Zero just because of a simple, flimsy correlation.

I always figured Mega Man characters have big feet because they're very sturdy robots that weigh like 400lbs minimum. You wouldn't want Gutsman slipping while carrying a giant steel girder because of his tiny tiny feet

True, but Mega Man and Roll were designed to be like housekeepers or something, so it makes a bit less sense for them.

The whole idea is pretty funny actually. There was a Flash animation that poked fun at the idea of Dr. Light creating these dangerous robots all to do simple menial tasks, I wish I could find it again. I think he had Ice Man bring him iced tea lmao

There was a running gag about guys being oblivious to girls.

The first time, it was Zero in the second Monster Hunter collab being oblivious to Iris fishing for compliments on her bikini-like Zinogre armor. He responds by saying it looks well-suited for combat.

The second time, it was Zero again, being oblivious to Ciel from MMZ (who is a human minor) fishing for compliments about her Christmas outfit. Zero responds by telling her he is not interested. NebulaJoy, the company behind Global, actually made a promotional tweet saying "don't Ciel and Zero look cute together?"

The third time? It was Roll in a white Easter leotard fishing for compliments from Mega Man. You know, her brother. He responds by going "Oh you're in white like Dr. Light!" And of course the OCs RiCO, iCO, and ViA go "wow he really needs to figure out how to talk to girls."

With a trillion characters to ship do they really need this much robotic insest? It reminds me of the weird official Brazillian Mega Man comics where they had a Mega Man/Roll thing going on too (and she was naked at certain points). At least she was an adult in that one, kinda like the old Mega Man cartoon version.

I can only find one official looking image of Mega Man without armor and it looks kinda recent, but his legs/feet look normalish, still a little big but not ludicrous.

That seems to be the case for Roll too, but originally she still had those weird looking legs and feet even without armor, so Mega Man probably did too:

This topic reminds me a bit of the Sonic redesigns for some reason.

As I have mentioned before, one of the MM7, 8, and Legends official artist was into that.

Unfortunately the problem happened with MM1, where Roll just showed up at the end and it wasn't clarified quick enough that Roll was Rock's sister. So a lot of fans from both sides of the pond ran with it. Fanart sent to Capcom by Japanese fans had shit like "I wish Rock and Roll weren't siblings" and stuff like Rock looking up Roll's skirt through a pond.

To give an idea of how bad it is, one of the Mega Man X2 co-directors recently revealed in a tweet they were considering making Zero out to be Roll forcibly modified by Dr. Wily all along during development. During the discussion, one of the Western fans who knows Japanese suddenly asked the co-director if Rock and Roll were lovers. This was possibly because some of the fandom fujoshis were getting upset on Discords that their favorite gay ship of X and Zero could be mocked by calling it incest.

The co-director, who had previously been answering questions, chose not to answer that one.

Well, the fandom is already heavily autistic and trooned out. The fujos just usually turn X into a quasi-girl because of their weird dom/sub bullshit. So it wouldn't actually be much of a change.

I guess, but giving the trannies another official win would suck. They love claiming as many characters into the LGBT as possible. They're like head hunters but gay.

Unfortunately with this kind of fandom you get to choose from a fabulous autism rainbow of fujoshis, lolicon freaks, and troons falling into either or both camps. Particularly with the fanartists.
 
I have always liked the character, Punk, in Mega Man, and it seems he is underutilized.

I would like to see a game in the Mega Man franchise where Punk is the main protagonist.

How about something like a game set in the Mega Man X universe where Punk is discovered in storage in the ruins of one of Dr. Wily's laboratories? Punk then goes on to fight against Sigma and his Reploids because of Punk's refusal to follow Sigma because of Punk's general dislike of authority.

I am not sure what Punk's weapon system would be like, though, as I do not want it to just be a copy of Mega Man's ability to copy the weapons of defeated robots.
