I have always liked the character, Punk, in Mega Man, and it seems he is underutilized.

I would like to see a game in the Mega Man franchise where Punk is the main protagonist.

How about something like a game set in the Mega Man X universe where Punk is discovered in storage in the ruins of one of Dr. Wily's laboratories? Punk then goes on to fight against Sigma and his Reploids because of Punk's refusal to follow Sigma because of Punk's general dislike of authority.

I am not sure what Punk's weapon system would be like, though, as I do not want it to just be a copy of Mega Man's ability to copy the weapons of defeated robots.
Did the Mega Man Killers even survive past the Game Boy games?

Also it would be interesting to see Reploids discover they weren't a novel concept, since you had cruder versions of X running around, basically. In X6, one of the Nightmare Investigators was murdered because he was excavating the area where X was discovered, which was deemed a no-go zone by the government.

Unfortunately with this kind of fandom you get to choose from a fabulous autism rainbow of fujoshis, lolicon freaks, and troons falling into either or both camps. Particularly with the fanartists.
Lucky us, how diverse!

The best Battle Network game is still BN2
I really liked the one that introduced the Resident Evil 4-esque menu where you could equip stuff and rearrange things like that. Was it MMBN4?

That was 3. It was the Navi-Cust. It was added in 3 and remained in 4, 5 and 6.

Punk was in Mega Man 10.

I think it would also be interesting to see former Mega Man antagonists have to deal with the fact that their former master (Dr. Wily) as well as Dr. Light have all been long dead from old age like they are in the Mega Man X series and they have to upgrade themselves to survive as they are made with long-obsolete technology.

Well no, they wouldn't necessarily have to deal with that fact since Dr. Wily is alive and has demonstrated the ability to possess robot bodies.

One of the things that happened with the X2 co-designer Tsuda (my error, I misremembered him as co-director) recently is another staffer came in and basically went "Yes, Serges from X2 is Wily", then Tsuda hedged and basically went "Well Inafune didn't want to say anything so I will respect his wishes."

Tsuda still works with Inafune on things like Gunvolt, so you can see why they would be cagey.

The fujos just usually turn X into a quasi-girl because of their weird dom/sub bullshit. So it wouldn't actually be much of a change.
I guess that explains why the novelization art makes X look the way he does? I'm not a fan of it.

I stopped bothering with it when I found out the explanation for Sigma going Maverick was he was assmad he was a copy of X. I know he's supposed to be kind of arrogant, but that's lame.

I always wondered if Mega Man, Zero, and a lot of the other characters in the Mega Man family were cyborgs rather than pure robots. They seem to have skin, hair, teeth, and a tongue, and they also seem to bleed red "blood".

Did Dr. Light actually encase parts of their outer bodies with living tissue, similar to that of the Terminator in the Terminator movie series?

That's just Iwamoto, who was the artist for the X1 to 4 mangas and Giga Mission cards. He is infamous for:

1) Making a tsundere mermaid girl OC to be X's girlfriend that probably served as the inspiration for MMZ's Leviathan.

2) At the same time as 1, making Zero act very friendly towards X, such as by carrying him or rubbing his shoulders. This has gone to the point fujoshis use circuitous arguments that since a dev said at one point they were eventually influenced by the manga, that includes their favorite gay ship. Lotta bait basically.

3) Increasing the "human-ness" of X specifically by making him able to cry, eat, vomit, etc. The crying is the most notable thing, he does it a lot.

Some of the details in the Mavericks in the MHX remake are manga references, like Launch Octopus mentioning his way of fighting is an art form.

Punk is underutilized because he has an awesome design. Also see the Stardroids from MMV and Double from X4.

The autistic don't appear to enjoy good designs, so they get ignored outright.

This is handwaved away by saying that in addition to everything else, Light knows how to make very bendy and flexible metal. Hence how you get things like the Yellow Devil.

This gets weird in IntiCreates' ZX because the black "body suit" parts are suddenly claimed to be artificial skin. Which they appear to have done in order to imply without saying so that the underage-and-later-of-age human protagonist Aile is mostly exposing her breasts constantly.

Oh, so that's not in the games. I should have known...

Given how much they love to suck x's 'potential' off, I'm surprised those aren't features exclusive to him.
Crying makes the most sense out of all of those. Wasting time putting a humidifier and synthesized tear ducts to emulate crying.

They are, I should have specified.

In the X4 manga, Zero gets extremely angry at X and punches him in the face because Zero was incapable of crying for "someone he loves", meaning Iris.

The only thing that I would change with Punk is to give him something like a wrap-around visor-eye instead of the usual bulging cartoon eyes that many Mega Man robots have. This would make him look even more badass by emphasizing that he is a robot.

Vomiting doesn't really make sense if he can't eat, but crying I could see. Wasting time putting a humidifier and synthesized tear ducts to emulate crying.
emergency evacuation of unwanted materials in the event normal filtraton methods dont work. or light wanted to show off. X is basically a vanity project for the man.

Huh, that's one way to make it work.

But yeah I think the good doc just wanted to show off. As I said, wasting time putting extra features for the sake of making him appear more human.
