I dunno if it was intended that way from the start, but they could have been going for a Wizard of Oz "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" thing with Calus, putting illusions in front of the player as to what he truly looked like when his actual body was broken and decayed, either due to his hedonism, depression, or obsession with the Darkness. I don't even know if it's ever stated his psionic powers were his own or merely projections from the Psions under his command. Either way, it doesn't really bother me, it plays into the delusions of grandeur that make up his character.
I think that body horror would've been a lot more fitting, with him bloating and mutating into something massive. I recall that Cabal literally grow bigger with their ego so it would make sense for him to have actually grown huge. Calus might've been a better raid boss than Nezarec for Lightfall instead of a campaign boss that most people will defeat once and fuck off. I know that his Robot was the Leviathan one but it would've fit to have fought the true Calus for the raid, and could've revolved around him having been tasked by the Witness with making sure we will never be able to prevent the final shape by crippling us and the Last City.

Project Sunrise has been released. https://github.com/stanuwu/Sunrise

Someone's managed to almost get the inventory fully working, and I read that apparently others have managed to get Calus spawned in the Leviathan, and another person managed to track another users location in the same environment on another client. Guardians make their own fate. (At least until Sony comes in and tries to kill it.)

even azteccross made a video about it:
although he also posted a couple of tweets from the egofaggots on xwitter, fucking annoying shits, mate.
we really need to bring bullying back so there should be zero risk in telling these faggots to kill themselves if they aren't sharing anything other than a gay screenshot or video, hell i'd fight hard to make it the default response to any faggot doing this shit, go die if you ain't helping, nigger.

When some people tried to make private Concord server some time ago Sony has almost instantly sent them a letter. So I am 99% sure that Sony will end this project as well, although 1% of me believes that Sony might be afraid of another wave of backlash and would just ignore it.

All modern devs must die.

With Project Sunrise available, videos comparing the old lighting on Nessus and EDZ to the new one are being made, showing that before Beyond Light they looked much better, having richer colors and sharpness, while everything now is muted and covered by fog.

I hated how the "new" D2 suddenly had contrast levels turned to fucking maximum. No subtlety in anything, everything had to be eye-popping.

I still think D1 looked the best overall.

Post beyond light they completely broke the HDR implementation so it always tries to output 10k nits or something and as a result looks washed out and overblown. I've been running around in Sunrise with HDR on and the blacks are blacker and the lights are lighter and the lighting can look quite striking and surreal at times.

>Fucks up the games shadows, making everything lighter and ruining the contrast

Yeah, seasonal slop was seasonal slop. Vindicate all these years later after the game was dead. People who defended the seasonal shit instead of forcing the retarded devs to focus resources adding to the core pillar of the game. I DONT CARE THAT ZAVALA'S WIFE FUCEKD OTHER MEN AND THAT FALLEN KILLED HIS WIFE'S SON

A villain that is actually in control of everything while also not being the Winnower, invalidating 6 years of these pyramids ships, and looks like it was made by Pixar.
I still to this day genuinely don't understand what the fuck is the point of the witness. By all accounts, the witness is literally just random dipshit wielding the darkness with delusions of grandeur.

Like, who gives a shit, oryx also used darkness, so did eramis, so did half the fucking villains in the franchise at one point one way or another. Why is a random ass darkness wielder the ultimate villain in the light and darkness saga instead of the darkness itself? What makes him special other than "he's better at it"? Because that's not enough.

His actions also make no sense, if the darkness is supposed to represent low entropy/preservation/memory/whatever and the titular final shape is about preserving as much against entropy as possible, why the fuck did he approve of rhulk killing his entire race when that's a high entropy action?

Can we get a Dinklage toggle, i feel like most people do not understand the plight we faced when we got Destiny at launch

Modders working on Project Sunrise have gotten entity spawning working
They're definitely making good progress, considering we've gone from wandering around empty zones to this shortly after release. It does make me worry about the future of the project and any other restoration efforts like this, though. Although one can argue that game preservation is important and this doesn't (and probably can't) compete with any existing Destiny product, who's to say whether Sony's lawyers will see it that way? Tooling around and exploring maps is one thing, but if (big if) modders manage to figure out how to get a full mission working, complete with proper scripting, enemies, interactions, dialogue, and everything else that might be needed, that might tip over into shutdown territory. After all, none of these guys are going to have the money to hire lawyers to defend them, so they'd almost assuredly fold at the first sign of a legal threat.

I hope that won't happen, but I still fear it may.

The raiding scene is pretty much dead now, conveniently after I've gotten everything I wanted from the raids. Finally got Touch of Malice and I got Euphony from only an hour of Witness farming. I ran Desert Perpetual once and I really like how each encounter is intricate in it's own way like Leviathan. The encounters have different mechanics so there's no encounter wasted on teaching a mechanic and a following encounter reinforcing it. Salvation's Edge doesn't need the first or third encounter, I think second does a better job with explaining the resonance ping pong. Verity is brilliant.
