Brie Larson is a dumb cunt who promotes charites on Twitter trying to raise 16k for kids to go see her movie. Listen you dumb white whore, you just made double digits in the millions, pay for that yourself you stupid, egotistical cunt.

God, this bitch is so unlikable.

It's pretty clearly based on the fundraisers for urban black kids to go see Black Panther, too. As if copying that for BLONDE WHITE WOMAN MOVIE would go over well even with the pro feminism/ girl power crowd, because that's the bottom rung of the progressive stack and counts as just barely better than being a man.

Looks decent. I want to say modern Hollywood has brainwashed me into having low standards, but these days I watch more anime and OLDER movies and shows than newer, and usually only watch newer stuff if it's action, sci-fi, fantasy, capeshit type stuff even if it's generic because I still like that kind of stuff.

Edit: I'm still reading through the thread, I usually ignore political bs related to movies. Usually.

If Brie Larson really wanted to do some activism and to “help” women she’d give her pay check to some women’s charity or convince Disney somehow to Give their movie profits to help poorer females around the world.

But that obviously ain’t happening so what’s the point of spewing all this nonsense?

If you really need to look up to a fictional woman with supernatural powers on a green screen as your “hero” I really question where your parental figures were.

So she's stronger, faster, better, more powerful and will have a bigger impact on Thanos than the rest of the heroes together.

Bleuch. That annoying tech girl from Black Panther was also so much smarter, cooler and richer than everyone else. Are they terrified new characters won't be interesting without all the shilling?

As a female myself, we all know why they do this. In order to compensate for the fact that many females have generally been regulated to love interests in superhero movies and save for Wonder Woman so far, all female led superhero movies have sucked, they usually make them "stronger, smarter, etc" than everyone else.

I hope people aren't expecting this thing to open to those ridiculous 160-180M opening weekend predictions. It's not impossible as anything can happen but what makes this movie so special that it will beat or match the opening weekend of movies like Catching Fire, Rogue One and Beauty and the Beast?

They're not. Its your bog standard marketing technique wherein a company portrays their product as desirable by inflating or fabricating interest in it.

Marketing Shill: "CAPTAIN MARVEL is tracking to have a twelve billion dollar opening weekend! Everybody will be talking about this incredible movie on the playground Monday morning!"
Unsuspecting Mark: "Wow, I had no interest in seeing Captain Marvel, but if everybody's going to see it I don't want to miss out!"

Honestly, instead of wasting Gwendoline Christie in NuStarWars, they should have cast her as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers instead of Brie Larson. Mainly because Gwendoline can play Stoic Badass With a Heart of Gold pretty well and make herself likable (I mean, just look at Brienne of Tarth), and from all the stuff I've seen her in, she's a GREAT ambassador for the stuff she's in and for promoting it.

And ironically enough, in this case, Brie can't even back herself up by saying "You just want me out because you're sexist and I'm not a conventional sexpot!", because she'd just look like a cunt because compared to Gwendoline Christie (who I think is a beautiful woman, personally), Brie is a conventional beauty.

It's weird because Wonder Woman never had these inflated predictions. I remembered some box office people expecting it to make 225M domestically and open to about 75M. And then it opened to 105M and did 410M domestically. Though I guess because DC was seen as a flaming pile of garbage, people went in with low hopes.

That, and Warner Brothers had such low expectations for the film they expected it to flop and barely promoted it. That's also why compared to Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins got a lot of leeway to make the film she wanted to make (even if the execs wanted her to cut the No Man's Land, which might easily become one of the most iconic scenes in superhero films if it isn't already).

To me, Brie Larsen will always be that au pair from The League who blackmailed Nick Kroll's character by claiming he jacked off to a picture of her.

Wait ... Warner Bros. wanted to CUT the No Man's Land scene?! Heresy! Absolute heresy!

This just proves that Warner Bros. had no idea what they were doing with the DC property. My goodness.

Disney was trying to speak this movie being a major success into reality, for it to have a 200 million dollar opening weekend in America. As seen above it quickly became "tracking to 180 million...140 million...er, 120 million...well, 80 million. Captain Marvellette is on track to bring in less than what Doctor Strange did on opening weekend, Doc Strange having been the MCU whipping boy for box office underperformance in the franchise.

Test-screenings say Brie Larson is unlikeable to put it mildly and that the audiences wish the movie was about the adventures of Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury running around with the prominently featured cat.
