Is this the beginning of the end for the -kinda- good Marvel movies?

I heard the intention with this film is to bring gender politics and other SJW shit to the front.

Honestly, this trailer doesn't look polished nor exciting :\

I was dissapointed to hear The Rock wasn’t going to be in it, but it’s nice to see a more lighthearted departure from the film’s overly-dark predecessors, so we’ll see.

Even a cinematic trailer can make a B movie look like a must-see movie. If the trailer is weak, I am pretty sure the movie will be too

I mean they did a good job of barely giving anything away. All I really get from this is she's gonna be an amnesiac character, then meets nick fury, who teaches her how to be a hero again.

I'm enternally confused by Larson's lack of ass. Yes, looks are lowhanging fruit and causes claims of sexism but it defies logic. Maybe she is perfect for modern Carol Danvers....

I can already feel them shoe horning a 'they told me I couldn't do anything because I was a girrrrlllll' narrative just from those snippets of her in the past.

My biggesr problem with this movie Is that the actress Is called Brie Larson and all people with the name of cheeses should be segregated. I am looking at you James LaBrie, singer of Dream Theater.

To be fair, that was always part of Carol's backstory in the comics but only in the sense that her dad despised the idea of his only girl joining the military and gave her a real hard time about her goals. When written right she's kind like Hal Jordan in being hotheaded Air Force pilots with extreme determination and a habit of bitting more than they can chew. Getting superpowers also seemed to make her into an adventure seeker.

I still expect them to grab the low hanging fruit though like recent comics and point at the 70s stories as justification.

The trailer sure does nothing to quell my belief that despite their continuing popularity comic book movies are creatively bankrupt. Another person to oversaturate the next massive Avengers crossover event and make beardfats clap!

Cinema is dead and Marvel's holding a bloody knife.

Captain Brand Name is here!

It's very...generic. I can see the kinds of politics it might be pushing, but luckily I ain't going anywhere near this. I learned my lesson with Black Panther.

The only part of the trailer that drew an emotional response from me was wistful nostalgia when she crashed through a Blockbuster, then it was all downhill from there. I'm going to Shazam! instead.

That's like saying "I'm sick of McDonalds, I'm going to Wendy's instead."

Maybe, but that's like saying I've eaten Big Macs at McDonalds for ten years straight (barf!), so I'm going Wendy's for a Baconator. It's still unhealthy, but it's a change of pace. At least the Shazam! trailer looked fun. Captain Marvel really feels underwhelming.
