Guhhhh…
After months of radio silence from the state’s Medicaid department, we finally got a follow up letter for our application asking for more documents. It took me until today to gather up all our files, but after taking about an hour scanning them into a neat bundle of PDFs, I discovered that you have to first apply to link your Medicaid application ID to your online account before you can submit files virtually.
Of course I find this out on a Sunday, so I figure it’ll take them at least a day to review my request. And even still, I’ll probably have to call their hotline and spend what I imagine will be hours on hold before I can talk to a real person to expedite my request. And then if THAT doesn’t work, I’ll have to hoof it to the jobs and family services office in person with about a hundred pages of paperwork to hand in to them before the deadline on Thursday. And EVEN THEN, I’m not even sure if we have everything they want from us (i.e. they’ve requested my husband’s naturalization documents, even though he hasn’t been naturalized yet), so they’ll probably just spit in our faces and unceremoniously reject us after ~3 months of waiting.
It’s all so aggravating… Why do we have to jump through so many hoops just to get what’s considered the bare minimum for health insurance? Why am I having to consider shelling out money to a filing expert for next time, just so I don’t get fucked in the ass again??
So-called first-world country… whatta joke!!!
