Is there a good uncensored server for SS14? Been playing it recently and, despite being shallower, the faster gameplay is a godsend. Though, I 'm still getting used to the off-grid movement.

/tg/ merged (was supposed to be merged today but didnt) their new "Wallening" update where everything got switched to 3/4 sprites and tall walls.
People are unhappy about it, but much like the intent mode change, the powers in control of /tg/ will bully and shame them until they put up with it or leave, regardless of how it will effect the server. The admins and coders are all sweeping super hard against anyone who dares speak out against the change. I imagine it's because the year of work they put into it and god knows how much money they paid people to make sprites, only to have half the playerbase think it looks like shit.

I think this has potential, I'm definitely interested, as someone that was put off /tg/ by all the terrible changes and is relishing that exact thing driving the server into the ground.

Just doubleposting as an update: they finally testmerged the Wallening after a day of delay and as I predicted it's pretty divisive. People in the community have been very vocal about it, and the myriad of issues, pleading with the admins to not go through with it. There are a good amount of admins and other people involved simply refusing to even indulge anything other than praise for the project, and openly mock them as being opposed to change or any other similar strawman to delegitimize their well meaning criticism.

As for the change itself? It's buggy as all hell, nothing works, it breaks so many things or just makes it worse to interact with, and it generally looks more visually cluttered, not to mention it looks like fucking shit. But guess what? The coders are still planning on merging it! (They have deliberately not said when) In their infinite wisdom and many many valid reasons why this completely fucks over half the things in the game, they still say this is the future of /tg/ that they want, so fuck your opinions and objective observations about how bad it is. They always mention how much time they have put into the project as if that is something that makes a difference, but they never mention the undisclosed amounts of money they paid people to make sprites, and I think that is also a very big factor why they keep pushing it through no matter what. I wish I could witness all the coping they are doing in their private discord and how much of a flamewar this is probably causing amongst the staff. If this goes through it's going to cause a huge exodus of their playerbase. All this, because some faggots wanted to do a pet project and are too deep in the sunk cost fallacy.

The testmerge is still going on as I type this so if you're feeling brave and haven't been banned from /tg/ you should witness it for yourself to see how bad it really is over there. (Note: Go to look but don't fuck with people, if you are really opposed you can still download the source code and make your own local server.)

Edit: The Testmerge is over

This. I fucking hate when the shitcoders say this to justify their unwanted changes and everyone who does this should be repob& right away. This shit happened too on /vg/ when a french goofball-esque neverplaying shitcoder that only makes PRs to spite the playerbase got his "lighting overhaul" merged with this talking point, among others, and made the server literally unplayable for an entire month.
Total Neverplayer Death.

So they want their station to join the 41% alongside them huh, figures. The changes look like absolute shit on top of the tg art style in general looking like human waste to begin with. Also found this in that pull you linked, lmao:

Of course they wouldn't test such basic shit like that when they're too busy absolutely blowing themselves over "how much work" they put into such a dogass change nobody wants. Good grief

They are trying to replicate Mojave Sun 13 style, made by INFARED_BARON. What I think they forgot is that literally everything is built around this, everything had to be remade to work w ith it. I think the style can work, it did in MS13, but a TON of work has to be put into it.

I think that's one of the major sticking points they really can't get past on /tg/, if there could be any reason at all that has a chance of convincing them to abandon the project it's probably that /tg/ was just not designed to be in that perspective, and it shows. It would be a good project for a new codebase, but trying to 1 for 1 switch sprites and think that would work is downright laughable. Side note that Fallout codebase looks pretty neat, I'm assuming it's dead now right?

It died a week ago because the owner couldn't continue to support the project. He released the codebase on Github, https://github.com/Mojave-Sun/mojave-sun-13. If you are willing to go onto their Discord, BARON released all the sprites, ill see if i can get them.
Surprisingly, there was none of the usual bullshit you'd expect. Its a shame, I was genuinely excited for the server

Unfortunately I don't have the funds, time, or will, to host anything. Hosting puts you in the line of fire in probably a dozen different ways and I'm not about to subject myself to that bullshit. I can only hope someone else grabs the project and hosts so I can at least experience it online once. The odds of that happening and the odds of that person not being a furry and/or tranny is probably like buying two lottery tickets and winning both.

It seems like nice artwork, I'd be willing to host it on the side but I'm not willing/able to divert cood or admin capacity

You need to speak Russian for that. All the English servers are monitored. (Or well, their Discords are because nobody making decisions plays the game or cares about the game)
