Technically the servers and codebase are separate. If the player base, and even more importantly the patron, were to drop low enough, it isn't inconceivable MSO might fork a pre wallening branch and ditch the current maintainers.

MSO is a lolcow in his own right. He's a weird mishmash of militant MRA and LGBT ally. This dude has such a reputation of getting into political slap fights with people that they had to make a containment channel for him in the /tg/ discord. He's the kind of dude with documents full of statistics lined up to support his arguments and gets mad if you dare disagree with him and his objective fact based numbers. As soon as the tide starts turning on him, he uses his powers as host to ban the person or lock the forum thread. I really think GamerGate must have scrambled his brain or something.

There was talk in the other thread of making a dedicated community watch thread for ss13/14, haven't heard much more about it which is a shame really because of the sheer autism across this entire game and all the stuff that's happened in the last few months between TG and ss14 is proof there is the makings of some good cattle.

he had a temper tantrum about being surrounded by troon freaks a while back, he never decided to man up and shove all these people off.
Perhaps not so much spineless as a man having a brief period of lucidity before slipping back into madness.

You're telling me man, I've been lurking the /tg/ forums because I knew something like this would happen eventually. It's the exact kind of shit that drove me away from playing there in the first place.
 
So what about the another HippieStation revival all of a sudden? I never played there, but I read on 4chan that the last time they reopened they were hosting tirsome pozzed TG code and yesterday we had a hippie old-timer tell us he got just perma'd from there for saying nigger.

the old timer is a schizophrenic female/tranny(?) named karma. Multiple people were dropping the funny niggerword but karma was spamming it constantly and then rage-ddosed the server following getting the boot.
As for "tiresome pozzed tg code" its pre-wallening and it can be fixed
it should be noted the current host is trying to keep the station from having a reputation as "niggerkiller 1488 station"
I don't believe that will be successful having read on the ss13 reddit this same day that some tranny doesn't feel welcome on most servers and someone else saying the nazis have taken over
These people do not live in the current reality of ss13 being a hugbox erp gooncave.

I see. Is there a website or some other dedicated place for keeping an eye on Hippiestation? I doubt I'll actively play there because I dislike TG code for encouraging sweaty powergayming and removing any and all fun interactions & game mechanics that some random neverplaying shitcoder deemed "unbalanced", but I might give it a try.

When will this persecution of the neuro-divergent end? This is the textbook definition of bigotry! The neuro-divergent are the unsung titans of coding complex projects! For-shame! How can the coders of SS14 make an inclusive safe space for the players who should not endure any form of bigotry with such a bigoted coder in their midst who rudely shit-talks another coder attempting to create their own version of SS13? Such passive-aggressive immaturity aimed at an ambitious (yet somewhat naively directed and created) project within the very same community (and a fellow remaker at that) is awful! Surely, this will not be a common trend that will affect SS14 in the future! (A) (A)

Just as a post Wallening update to cover the fallout of one of the biggest mistakes in SS13 history. The playerbase is more fractured than it has ever been, the constant tribalism powderkeg between LRP and MRP is about to go, I can just feel it. There had always been this underlying struggle between what people wanted from it, and I think things are getting so dire that the community is getting panicky and aggressive about their spaceman game. It almost has the same vibe of the Soviet Union collapsing. I predict /tg/ is going to splinter eventually. A group already splintered off to "Wallstation" and rejoined so that faction probably still exists and wouldn't be opposed to doing it again. Here's a list of things I have picked up on in no particular order that lead me to think like this.
  • Admins are leaving left and right citing disagreement with the new incoming head admins that insist on enacting their vision in the most totalitarian way
  • Admins are walking on eggshells because the web of allegiances and friendships makes punishing people a matter of politics
  • MrStonedOne the longtime host of /tg/ is stepping down (like I predicted)
  • Apparently funding is tight, the whole thing is being kept afloat by a small handful of heavy donors
  • Server population is at an all time low for the entirety of the time that they have been tracking those statistics, so they decided to remove all but 3 of their main servers
  • Their European server, that accounts for a good amount of their traffic, had a hardware malfunction and has been offline for a time
  • A large amount of the extra things they had like round logging, player statistics, and Text-To-Speech have been offline
  • Players are on mass exodus to other servers because DDoS and hardware issues has made downtime and lag a regular thing
  • Other servers like Monkestation are thriving because the injection of /tg/ players which causes a domino effect attracting more /tg/ players

Yeah there has been a big debate around mechanics that irrevocably remove someone from a round. That's part of the rift between LRP and MRP that I was talking about. There are people that really want to RP their shitty OC and can't handle when shit goes south like the game is designed to, and people that just want to get straight to the action so they don't have to deal as much with the aforementioned people and get butthurt when they have to cope with the sometimes unbalanced nature of a game like SS13. Personally, I just think people really hate seeing their self inserts being implied to be mega-dead because then they have to twist their story to ignore the fact that it happens.

In reality, the person that pushed this change probably had some traitor with an e-sword sprint up and lop their catgirl head off their shoulders and they got big mad and removed that mechanic out of spite. That has been the coding ethos for /tg/ for the past year or so it seems. Anything that makes /tg/ a cushy sandbox where your special snowflake characters can uwu at each other and sometimes have to deal with something, but it can't be too hard because then they can't uwu at each other. The rest are just autistics that are so good at the combat that I doubt they have played any other games for years, given the choice I think some of them would literally choose death over the thought of not being able to play their shitty old atmospherics simulator. It really says something when some people literally have to ask to be banned to prevent them from playing SS13.
 
Yeah they get some big plan of exactly how they want the round to go right down to every single step and interaction they want to happen, and immediately have a massive chimpout if it goes any other way, God forbid an antag just do antag shit. You think they'd just fuck off and make their own fork to hugbox themselves from the "big bad antag mechanics" but yeah I suppose that's what /tg/ has become now. Over half the fun of the game is "shit has now hit the fan, good luck lol" or the alternative "you are now dead and shit has also hit the fan, enjoy your front row seat watching it all unfold"

On top of that they could also just make it so you can reattach heads and clone, or grab the brain and use that to clone, or just suck it up and ghost around/respawn, but that would be common sense which they automatically don't have, plus it goes right back to the "noooo you can't kill muh OC" anyway so they'd likely void it out the gate with some retarded "this is not the way we want it to be" cope
 
The ultimate goal of these people is to turn SS13 into a Gmod RP style stand in a hallway simulator. I have no idea why they are so hellbent on this considering there are probably a hundred million other ways to roleplay their gay little anime characters without having to screw up an existing game and they can't roleplay for shit anyways. If tgstation is too not-boring for them why don't they just go to one of the designated furry servers where everyone just stands around and does nothing for hours? They are autistically fixated on something they apparently don't even like since they keep removing everything and many of the coders don't even play the game. I feel like a large portion of the current tgstation playerbase consists of the kids who were writing Jeff the Killer OCs ten years ago and haven't mentally matured since then, but at least those stories actually have things happen in them as retarded as they are.

MSO is throwing the sinking ship onto someone else so I guess he feels like he doesn't have to give a fuck anymore and is just abusing his powers before he loses them all. I wonder if he hit his head sometime recently, because he wasn't always this bad.
