Despite the past weeks of turmoil and infighting, petitions, and people saying they will leave. All the broken shit and bad workarounds because of their poorly tested idea. /tg/ has officially merged The Wallening. I have never seen a group of people so readily and willingly seek to fragment their playerbase from an open source project.
We will see in the coming weeks if the players can actually make good on their threats of leaving.

I wonder if there is any good way to reach them, seems like a good opportunity but its very hard to market on discord they will ban you or throttle your account if you try to mass DM

They have a forum, but I don't know how kindly they would take to an outsider trying to plug their own server when they see blood in the water. You could also try namedropping your server in the Reddit discussions about it, there are plenty of people there that have been expressing their desire to find elsewhere to play. I don't know if you would actually want any of those kinds of people playing on your server though.

There is already someone in the community putting out their own fork called Wallstation, unfortunately, it's a mapper that was permabanned for making smut about two regular player's characters against their wishes and posting it in the /tg/ discord. (and its not even the first time)

Just as an update, some sperg is DDoSing /tg/ because of the wall change. I have no idea who, but its probably some butthurt autist. Which is retarded for multiple reasons. One, its a fucking video game. Two, it gives them a cope for the drop in playercount. Three, whats the fucking point? It's just an inconvenience, and the retard trannies in charge of /tg/ are the type that push back harder when people fight them. The best option in this situation is to just let the servers die, and eventually someone else will seize control and maybe make things better. Not sure if it's still ongoing, but they have started using CuckFlare.

I actually considered that possibility. It would be a hilarious twist if it were able to be verified. Because this is the Internet we're talking about, I'm willing to employ Occam's Razor in this situation. It's most likely just some nerd malding that they ruined his spaceman game. It's happened before.

Also I wanted to edit an update I missed:
Apparetly there are a couple big donors to /tg/ that have stopped donating because of the wallening and this has caused the host of /tg/ to start losing money, now having to pay server costs out of his own pocket. This may actually make something happen, or the current host is going to hand it off to someone else that is willing to eat the cost.

I noticed that isn't the first time they "joke" about taking control. I thought saw that comment in the wallening thread and wondered if I was just misremembering, but no, they have said it multiple times. Not to mention, this is the person responsible for the walls in the first place. This entire ordeal has been people sweeping for this exact person and telling people they HAVE to be nice to them.

I'm calling it, the coders are trying for some kind of coup, and this nigger can't keep his mouth shut. There's been some fucked up vibe about this whole wallening situation where the people responsible are being needlessly cagey and vague about their intentions.

I suspect the wallening project is a massive part of it. It is deeply unpopular and was basically rammed through because lemon has been working on it for four years. The backlash has been enormous oranges likely wasn't willing to deal with it.

In short https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/85491 was merged, broken, poorly tested, conflicting with many systems and changing the perspective of the game from what it has been since the start of ss13. The entire TG player base was in uproar and they still merged it. Thus far TG bigwhigs (oranges) have stepped down, allegedly several big donors stopped supporting the TG servers, a player Exodus may be on the menu, and the TG troon aristocracy is still too far up their own ass to change.

This has been in development for three years and the number of $1000 spent on spriter commissions has been floating around. The entire event has been an unending class 5 shiticane for TG and I can assure you, more juicy developments to come

Not only that, but apparently the walls are so bad they are allegedly causing eye-strain and even motion sickness in some cases, it's not just a case of the walls being broken, they are an abject failure of design.

My God that's an achievement right there if it's true, the TG coder hierarchy screwed up so bad it's making people physically ill in real life.

I barely got a chance to play with new TG walls between irl stuff and DDoSing but the few minutes I did it felt out of place, probably heavy bias due to playing this game way too damn long
 
The writing was on the wall for this when they got rid of a bunch of older, much easier to read sprites, to add their own OC ones, that they kept insisting were better and more in theme. Then when people still said "No, these are shit" they just went full mask off, said they don't care, and for a short time you got insta muted talking about them in OOC. The /tg/ devs think that this is their own special snowflake game that's for them, and not a game that people play because they enjoy this specific iteration.
