YouTube is suffering a serious outage – with thousands reporting issues with the Google-owned video service.

YouTube users have been confronted with error messages as they tried to login, upload or watch content on the hugely-popular video platform.

It appears that the popular video streaming site went offline at around 2.20am BST, with thousands unable to access content. Many are reporting seeing 'Error 500' when attempting to access content.

Social media sites have been flooded with complaints, with streams of YouTube users in the US and UK saying the Google-owned site was not working for them.

Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows users reporting problems across the UK, Europe and the United States.

Enraged customers have flooded social media to complain about the problems.

Currently, the website is either not loading, or when it does, refusing to play any videos. Only showing an error message.

Personally, given that no videos are working across the whole site, we're inclined to think something very bad went wrong, but on YouTube's end.

I told Google to die one time, and now I have no youtube.

*sobs*

Now how will I post my shitty videos on the internet.

Is it that Google is trying to set us free from the machine that influences narcissism, greed and absolute embarrassment?

@Null broke the youtube (someone ought to put Null's face on that Kim K "break the internet" picture. Y'all know which one)

Seriously though, who else initially thought that youtube had just banned them for belittling too many people on furry youtubers and contrapoints' comment sections.

I don't know why, but there's something I find amusing about YouTube giving a personalized response to every single person that tweets at them.

Gamergate, comicsgate, trump, alt right and literally nazis have posted to YouTube, but the day dear leader Null decides to YouTube, they delete fucking everything. It is clear they fear the kiwi.

How long do you think society can last without getting their favorite youtuber on their iphone? I give them 2 hours until we have full anarchy in the streets.
I wonder if for the next revolution to happen someone will have to erase all the windows of entertainment on the internet first?
