YouTube is suffering a serious outage – with thousands reporting issues with the Google-owned video service.

YouTube users have been confronted with error messages as they tried to login, upload or watch content on the hugely-popular video platform.

It appears that the popular video streaming site went offline at around 2.20am BST, with thousands unable to access content. Many are reporting seeing 'Error 500' when attempting to access content.

Social media sites have been flooded with complaints, with streams of YouTube users in the US and UK saying the Google-owned site was not working for them.

Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows users reporting problems across the UK, Europe and the United States.

Enraged customers have flooded social media to complain about the problems.

Currently, the website is either not loading, or when it does, refusing to play any videos. Only showing an error message.

Clicking the learn more link simply takes users to the following info:

YouTube video streaming issues can be caused by many factors. By troubleshooting your internet or device connection, you may be able to play your videos again.

You may be experiencing a video streaming issue if you’ve seen one of these notifications
  • An error has occurred.

Personally, given that no videos are working across the whole site, we're inclined to think something very bad went wrong, but on YouTube's end.

Ok, I confess. I took down youtube. I reported all of the politically incorrect videos to a nice woman at google. I think one of her headmates must've taken the report badly and deleted everything.

Damn it all, now what am I going to do with my evening now that I don't have people talking into cameras to help justify my feelings on things I have no actual understanding about but I'm autistically obsessing over?
 
I actually got a video to work from an old tab that was in my recommends by right clicking and opening it in a new tab, but the page is all fucked:

Could you imagine the collective meltdown if youtube was down for several months in a row, like that time the Playstation Network got hacked in 2011?

Dyn realized he shouldnt have spoken without voice modulation on Null’s stream today and to cover his tracks took down the entirety of YouTube.

after it goes back up watch as youtubers cry out how this hurt there revenue
