I've only ever seen him shown as a extremely powerful villain. In most media I've seen him in he is portrayed as a selfish violent brute, a mad dog that needs to be put down or, at best, a peerless warrior who could have gone far if he didn't betray literally everyone in his life.
I mean, here it gets rolled over as part of a heroic bit of subterfuge. He isn't even strangled, SMH.

Aside, I do love the streamlined equipment system. I'm one of the few people who enjoyed Nioh's Diablo loot, but could see why it frustrated people. Here you still have the star ratings and suffixes to chase, but there's no leveled gear outside of the upgrade rank - three different types of dual swords, for example, mean three different sets of scaling. You won't have to replace and grind every gear piece once you've settled on it; I've been using Hong Jing's set and it saw me through a good portion of NG+!

Nioh was kinda frustrating on that front. Sure all your gear rolls were perfect, but even a two level difference with the next drop would render all that pointless.

Ma Chao one of liu beis five tiger generals was also supposedly a massive piece of shit irl, wherein the games he's portrayed as a harbinger of justice.
As always, WeiCHADs win yet again.

getting into the NG+ cycle has highlighted what I feel is the game's weakest point; the 5 star gear has an awful drop rate that's even lower than divines in NioH 1, and even then most of the sets just aren't as good as sets that you can get from followers, Hua Xiong or Lu Bu.

This will probably get addressed in the DLC, but I already learned my lesson from Nioh 1 and 2, I'm at least grinding to the current level cap before it releases, any 5 stars I pick up will act as a bonus.

Cao Cao and his crew did get shit done. Gotta hand it to em.

This game looks like pure hotshit. All chinky games are pure "Made in China". Cheap, overdone presentation, little depth, fucking shit and gay.

I am not even going to pirate this, it looks like spyware.
You came in here just to leave this dog turd? Yeah if you have no interest in souls likes or none in three kingdoms era ancient China, the games not for you, move on then.

It's ok, I'm not convinced the rally/morale system is strong enough to build a game around. It's kind of neat as an experiment but if a sequel comes I think it would be better served by just having a traditional stat and gear system like Nioh 2.

I'm not finished with it but right now my personal rating is probably 7.5/10

Fuck off back to reddit.

I haven't posted this gem in a while, thanks.

He was a really easy fight but I think he's still a really cool concept. I'd like it if they sped him up just a little bit or made some of his hitboxes bigger.
Oh god yes. I hate using tvtropes language, but he was a brilliant breather boss. No significant challenge, but lots of visual activity and bombast to match the setting. What came after was a bit of a letdown.

considering it's just three spectacle fights in a row I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. the true final boss was a really nice challenge, so it all evens out in the end.

Was seriously considering picking this game up on PS4; been looking for a game based on Chinese myth, and I'm also a fan of the first Nioh and Sekiro. So, the game does look like it'll be right up my alley; that being said, I am a little cautious about some of the issues I've read about, like the morale mechanic. That, and I'm not all that thrilled about them making the game pozzed with the pronoun shit.

That being said, from what I've watched so far, it does look pretty solid overall. Was thinking about picking it up once the price dropped a bit and I had some more cash saved up. What do you guys think?
