Making a thread for this as after playing the demo I can say for a fact that it is manifestly not like Nioh in any way aside from the mission-based gameplay.
I'm not going to go into the problems with the PC port, but be aware that it currently runs like shit unless you disable VSYNC, update your graphics drivers and have RTSS running in the background to lock your in-game FPS to 60. It also has problems even booting up on some PCs.
Stuck between whether I like it or dislike at the moment, so I'll put what I like and don't like in autistic set of bullet points for everyone else to get mad about;
Anyway, enough rambling from me, if anyone else has played the demo, what do you think so far? got things you like or dislike?

Pros:
+ No stamina meter to cuck you out of a combo, your basic attack chain can be used to constantly apply pressure.
+ Counter/ Parry/ Deflect is extremely responsive and proper usage lets you stay in combat for as long as you want,
+ Level design feels dense with a lot of verticality to it.
+ You can select a traditional chinese dub to really get that romance of the 3 kingdoms feel.
+ While you can't find all of the weapons in the demo, there's 17 to choose from depending on what you feel like.
Cons:
- Weapons seem to only have one basic combo string per weapon, meaning you're going to be using the same attack a lot. No idea if this is demo only or will change as the game progresses.
- The morale system either makes the game trivial or lets enemies 2 shot you, it doesn't feel like there's a good in-between.
- Weapon skills are tied to the weapons you pick up instead of being on a proficiency tree that rewards you for using one weapon type for an extended period or against more difficult enemies.
- You can juggle the tutorial boss with your basic attack string.
- The Counter is how you do most of your damage to big enemies instead of being an optional way of doing a little bit of a punish. This was a problem with Nioh 2 as well.
I think the biggest problem for me is there only being one attack string for each weapon, coming off of other games by Team Ninja this ends up feeling undercooked, though at the same time I really like the levels. I like how the counter feels, but I don't like how it plays. If it did less damage or acted more as a utility thing I probably wouldn't mind so much.
