Why Conservatives Are Flipping Out Over ‘Cocomelon’

The “anti-woke” crusaders are coming after Netflix’s animated preschooler show Cocomelon.

Netflix’s Cocomelon is a huge hit among the two-year-old and over demographic. The brightly colored animated series focuses on preschooler issues like missing your parents while at school and how to share toys. Instead of solving things through talking, they relay everything through songs. Every song sounds similar to a lullaby or another popular kids song, with the words sometimes altered to better fit the scenario in the show. It may not be enjoyable for parents, but kids adore it. Cocomelonconsistently lands on Netflix’s top 10 streamed series list.

The spinoff series, Cocomelon Lane, recently became the target of angry conservatives. Cocomelon Lane is essentially the same as Cocomelon, even featuring the same characters, only it has more dialogue and story. Netflix released the episode in question back in November, but it caught the attention of the “anti-woke” crowd in December when a clip of Cocomelon Lane hit the social media platform X.

Conservatives create Cocomelon “controversy”

The “controversial” clip shows a little boy trying to decide what to wear for a fun photo shoot. The boy has his choice of costumes, but can’t decide what would be best. He asks his two dads which outfit he should wear. They sing a song called “Just Be You,” and encourage their son to wear something that represents him. Since he likes being helpful, they suggest a firefighter costume. He likes to cook, so he puts on a chef’s outfit. He cycles through various outfits while taking pictures. The boy also likes to dance. For a brief moment, he dances like a ballerina in a tutu and a tiara before finally deciding on a mashup of a bunch of different hats.
The short clip of the boy wearing the tiara and tutu while dancing for his two dads has enraged conservatives. We will not link to the angry tweets but they include reactions like “I would put these people in prison,” “This is disgusting,” and “Netflix deserves the Bud Light treatment.” They argue this scene is meant to appease the “woke” crowd by dressing a boy up “like a girl.” Conservatives worry this may indoctrinate toddlers since Cocomelon is so popular amongst that age group. Plus the child has two dads who care about their son, and that is “too woke” for conservatives to handle.

Of course, right-wing social media wouldignite with outrage over a kid playing dress up. Anyone who has been around a preschooler playing dress-up would realize this is completely natural behavior. Children grab whatever they think looks interesting or fits what they are trying to act out. “Ballerinas” and “dancing” are almost synonymous to children, so a tutu and tiara fit the idea of dancing. The conservatives are ignoring the other outfits that are traditionally considered masculine in their precious gender binary. They also seem to miss Cocomelon‘s message to love your child and encourage them to be themselves, no matter what that looks like.

First, what is this animation quality and voice acting?, who is voluntary putting their children in front of this seizure inducing shit?. Second, don't like it?, just change the channel or push the off button, it isn't that hard folks. People should take far more responsibility when raising kids, not watching this crap on a tablet doesn't kill them. The state shouldn't raise your kids, nor school, nor daycare, nor coco-melon the son of the antichrist, only you.

probably an attempt to gaslight when boys wanted barbies. quacks says it's because "boys want to explore" when really I just wanted to see them naked and Spiderman needed a girlfriend.
Same, my G.I.Joes had a stable home life when they weren't fighting the enemies of freedom

There are equally as bad animations out there and have been for a long time. But I get it from the conservative point of view, all I am saying is why not launch against this and others while you're at it? What pees me off about the animation in this cocomelon is that they used female clothing rather than boy clothing and then claimed "free choice, do what you do" but the point of the cartoon was to let a vast minority of kids know that it is OK to wear women's clothing - although these same kids in that age bracket couldn't possibly have an understanding of their sexual nature at fucking age 3. So for that I tell them "Get fucked".

Most of it (Kids TV) except some exceptional shows (like Octonauts) are mind numbing, contain no education value and are taking up valuable memory space of young children.

My guess is if you took the number of gaming hours spent by adults in America it would equal if not exceed the student hours in Universities. If you are raised to do mind numbing activities, it usually continues. I had an employee once I could not get to read any material on how to do their job or advance their knowledge, but he always had something to brag about like his ranking on Call of duty or Halo. I don't blame his extant environment, I blame the one he was raised in.

I hate this dumb cartoon because the babies all look like they have chromosome errors.

But did the creators realise that boys can be ballet dancers too? No tutu required.

I watched the scene to see what the fuss is about and found it disturbing.

It's not just a kid in a tutu, his "dads" are telling him to go get in front of apparently a photography or video studio they have in their home so that they can take pictures of him dancing in a diaper and tutu. They tell him this means they love him.

I figured it was just some dumb kindertranny propaganda aimed at three year olds. But they lumped an extra layer of horror onto it.

Every English-speaking kid in the next 10 years who is victimized by CP groomers will be shown that video. Every single one. It's total normalization of multiple men telling you to pose and dance for the camera while wearing role play gear.

They also have the kid looking meaningfully at the tiara and more "boyish" options, back and forth, while the "dads" croon that when you're trying to "decide," just think about the things you like to do and then choose. Their eyes widen. His eyes widen. He picks the tiara. They know exactly what they're doing with these beats and it's disgusting.

I don't necessarily disagree with you but having worked with young children, boys choosing to dress up as princesses or ballerinas does happen - granted we did have boxes with all manner of costumes, but it happened more than once.

Why would two dads have girl's clothes in the house if they only have one son?

Jesus, the actress they got to play Triss is ugly. Did the showmakers miss the part of the books where its stated that every single sorceress has been magically transfigured to be drop-dead gorgeous?
Because according to this pandering, wokescold article from ScreenRant, "This version of Triss is more accurate to the book than the videogame version"🙄 nevermind that they have never given a single flying fuck about accuracy when it comes to ANY OTHER instances of character portrayal, whether it's comic book adaptations, cultural fairytale or legends, or even actual people who existed, like Cleopatra, or Issac Newton. But if you even so much as question it, you're the one who's racist/phobic/literally Hitler, etc.

Triss did not have time to ponder the strange event. The grate of an iron-clad door reached her, coming from the dark void of the corridor which gaped behind the battered portal. She slipped the fur cape from her shoulders, removed her fox-fur hat and, with a swift movement of the head, tousled her hair – long, full locks the colour of fresh chestnuts, with a sheen of gold, her pride and identifying characteristic.
Uh huh... more accurate to the book they said. That quote is right out of Blood of Elves, Triss' arrival at Kaer Morhen. That negress' hair is neither long, nor full, nor in locks, nor the color of fresh chestnuts with a sheen of gold.

That's exactly what it's designed to do, so yeah, that's logically a concern lmao
my thought exactly. like, thats why they put it in there lol

bingo. its important to teach kids from very young that lust is actually love. not being able to tell the difference fuels depravity in nearly every way, from pornography and sex addiciton, homosexuality, autogynophilia, prostution, etc etc

its why gays say "love is love" and "love wins" even though homosexual relations are not love

Libtards want to have their cake and eat it too, they want to openly insist on including propaganda in media but then act like you're crazy for even noticing it and being concerned that what they're doing and might work lol. I fucking detest these "people".

no we're not "Flipping out" like this is the evangelicals did over pokemon evolutions or whatever. We're reaching our limits of patients of gay niggerfaggot agitprop being snuck into our children's media behind our backs. If/when the economy goes tits up like in weimar people are gonna remember this shit and be out for blood.

I think parents are doing a grave disservice by letting kids watch any of this shit around the clock. I’ll go to my supermarket and it’s not unusual at all to see a toddler on a shopping cart happily zonked out while Cocomelon or some other junk plays on a cheap kid tablet.

Sure I had a Gameboy like many in my gen did and it made car rides so enjoyable. But screen time needs to be limited to 2 hours at most on usual days.

iPad parenting is genuinely one of the worst things you can do to a child. The way that tablets capture a child's attention and puts them in a trance is insanely creepy to me and it's fucking them up in so many ways. Kids need to learn how to be bored and how to entertain themselves otherwise they'll turn into little ADD goblins. There's situations where iPads are ok like on a very long car ride but it should be a treat.
