The thing that surprises me with Chris is that when he got put back into the college they didn't sign him up with the state Department of Vocational Rehabilitation program (DVR). Maybe times were different then but now if you get suspended from a community college due to a disorder (in my state WA at least), they have someone do some medical paperwork on you, you can only get back into the college if you are signed up with Vocational Rehabilitation. And once you are in it they have you create an employment plan [stating what kind of job you want really] and you get state funding for any resources you need, like free driving school or payment for college textbooks for example. Maybe Virginia is total crap but that part surprises me, why did Chris not get signed up with DVR.

Wasn't he already federally under Social Security disability by then? Or did Bob get the :tugboat: set up after his community college thing?
 
I think Chris will probably roll Barb's corpse into a carpet and leave her outside on the curb for the garbage truck to pick up, since we all know he'll have better things to spend his money on instead of an expensive casket and funeral services.

Why? Having Barb there is worse than being alone. It's not like she helps anything by being crazy and fucking his head up even worse than it already is.

If anything, he'll get better.
 
I don't get why so many people think he'll fall apart. His wife will be there to provide emotional support while he deals with the death of a loved one.

He earned his college degree, which prepared him for a career in fast food, from which he retired early. After Wendy's is when Bob figured out Chris had to get on the tug.

I had actually been thinking about the funeral of Barbara (call me morbid) , but who is going to show up to Barb's funeral?

Catherine summarized Barb as a "cantankerous old harpy". Pretty much the only relationship we know of is with her insurance agent, which is a negative pissing-match. She seems content to stay at home forever, because she feels she has earned that right through retirement.

So, I'm almost sure Rocky Shoemaker will be there, mostly for Chris' sake. I can't imagine Cole would go, if not for some sort of closure on an ugly childhood. Her ex-husbands, if any are still alive, may show. Extended family seems optimistic. Or perhaps I'm not giving enough credit to the Weston-Chandler clan, and maybe they really are all loyal to each other, and will show up to the ceremony.
