I just now realized that he never made a proper video on Restoration project before, prolly because it is the most popular and, therefore, known Fallout 2 mod. Watched the first 10 min and it's aight, nice little introduction, will finish tomorrow. Although, i do agree with the sentiment mentioned earlier - he REALLY should stop with the fucking wojacks....

Pretty retarded, nobody plays vanilla Fallout 2 anymore. All RP does is fix a shitload of bugs, adds features and some cut content. So what, he talks about cut content? Not enough for a video in my opinion, did he run out of topics or is he just trying to capitalize on the new season of the TV show for the algorithm wave?

Fallout 2 videos never change.

Like legitimately feels like the tenth time he did a video on that game from start to finish. His comments are good, while some of the cut content was a case of lack of time, most of it is half baked fetch quests or plot points that are more interesting in theory than played in practice.

I disagree, Fallout 2 is not just incredibly buggy but visibly unfinished when you just play the vanilla release, even more so than New Vegas. I cannot even imagine playing Fallout 2 without the Restoration Project now, even the older version at least. You can say that a lot of Fallout 2 is more interesting in theory than in practice, but it is still one of the more iconic games in the franchise precisely because it tried so many things. I mean, New Reno sounds fucking awful in practice, but it turned out to be one of the most recognizable pieces of Fallout, it just would not feel the same without it. EPA felt weird, but at the same time it is just the prototype for Old World Blues later down the line, which was mostly received positively. Sulik's quest is not implemented in the base game, so his whole deal with looking for his sister feels really weird without the RP, and even if Primitive Village isn't an amazing location, it does add to the game, and playing without it makes it feel visibly emptier to play.

I don't think this is a hot take, but every copy of Fallout 2 released on Steam or GOG or whatever should just come with RP from the get go. It easily takes a game that is 8/10 in the state it released to a 9/10 or a 9.5/10, depending on who you ask. Same way you will likely not play Fallout New Vegas without the latest patch because it plays visibly worse if you just fire up the 1.0 release.

Ok, so i finished the vid and yes, he focuses mainly on the restoration parts, added to the base game and the slight changes to the base locations, encounters, characters etc. It's not really a complete walkthrough, he jumps from location to location that has been modyfied by the Restoration project. Honestly, he should just make an entire new, complete playthrough with the mod, showing the differences to the vanilla and how it changed the base. Also, i really don't like the ending comment, how new players should play vanilla first and THEN install the mod. I mean, sure, if you want to deal with game-breaking, save-corrupting bugs, then yeah, go ahead. My last vanilla playthrough was 6 years ago, and i still remember, when i got the save-corruption bug 5 fucking times (plus 4 CiD) last one was when i wanted to exit San Fran, after blowing-up the Oil-rig - i got ZERO corruption bugs on my last Restoration playthough last year - if you want the REAL vanilla experience, by all means go ahead. Anyone else, who doesn't want to get frustrated, will just install the Restoration project and go from here - the additional content is fully optional and can be wholly ignored (apart from the few changes to main/side quests). He really does disservice to the mod, glossing over the many QoL changes and the new stuff the mod introduces (like new drug, that can temporary boost your stats - i got a 5 man party with 6 charisma).

To this day, i member, when i decided to repent and bought the original New Vegas: GOTY edition on Steam, when it was on a 80% discount in October 2013 (i was playing on pirated version up until this moment, mainly, becuase the DLC's were geo-locked on Steam and the local publisher decided not to publish them in Poland) and started the new, modded playthough - the Steam version DIDN'T HAD the fucking fix to the command line to prevent the loading bug - this was fixed in the second, or maybe third hotfix to the Skidrow version, wayback in 2010. What's the point of buying the orignal, retail version, if the "pirates" fix the bugs better then the devs?

I really cannot stress how fucking broken the original release of Fallout 2 was. I mean yeah, it is one of the best CRPGs of all time, but good lord kids these days don't know how good they have it with RP making the game functional right out of the box. Check out Per's Nearly Ultimate Guide, the unofficial bible to Fallout 2. Now that is some Fallout history for you. Take note whenever a really weird or gamebreaking bug is mentioned, if you have little regard for your health turn it into a fun drinking game and take a shot whenever that happens:

Be glad you don't have to deal with what the OGs did before RP or even the unofficial patches came out. And yeah, that is a really dumb take, but then again Warlockracy isn't nearly as smart as he thinks he is. People forgot that he didn't shit on Frontier as much as he maybe should because he didn't even play it halfway thru, he was literally just commenting over someone else's playthru, backseat reviewing so to speak, when the game shat out on him and didn't let him progress past a certain point(lol, here is your "original experience" right there, that's what happens when you play an unpatched Fallout release).

Oh, and don't worry, you will still get plenty of bugs, crashes and corrupted saves even with RP if you want the "original experience". It just happens way less often, so you can actually play the game normally.
 
New episode about Atomfall (also sponsored by the devs). Overall sounds like a Fallout/Stalker love child which makes it look very competent but also generic. A lot of big spoilers so I personally wouldn't play it. Kind of a shame he doesn't sperg about post ww2 Britain, since it was the moment of triumph for the empire as well as the start of an apocalyptic fall from grace. The game itself doesn't seem to really use the setting that well.

Honestly I was on the fence about this game before but this video is probably the best endorsement I've seen for it. I'll buy it next chance I get.

Any of you sons of bitches play Atomfall? Its still hovering around the 30 dollar range so that kinda keeps me from buying it. Seems to me like Outer Worlds a very generic shooter with barebones "RPG" elements

His first English videos weren’t about video games; they were also about politics, and I think they were under a different nickname. I vaguely remember how he talked about Obama’s autobiography(???) and that he would do a review on it (GEEEG). I didn’t watch it because I assumed it was end of his Internet career, he will receive 0 views and leave from the Internet entirely. I completely forgot about him for years until his current YouTube channel appeared in my recommendations. I clicked on his video about "Kazakhstan Morrowind" or something like that, watched it, and thought: "Huh, that is a VERY familiar voice." My political views also made the same 180-degree turn on Russia and Ukraine; I abandoned Russian nationalism after "3 days smo", became pro-Ukraine and I know that we even subscribed to the same niche Russophobic Telegram channels. Sometimes I go to his channel and watch recent game reviews in search of his comments about Russia and Russians. Politics aside, he makes pretty good videos.

I really liked it. He really has a lot of fondness for the game and it's not the billionth time he talks on Fallout. The game is also interesting in being a high level adventure that's not as retarded as those usually get (or generally retarded planar shit), and a pretty concise adventure without padding with good lore connections.

It is still silly having a group of 18+ levels in the human world. Just a group of demigods fucking around.

It's a good overview of the Goblin saga which was featured in multiple episodes. Dude was interesting and could have been the Russian Todd Howards if he was less autistic and a politisperg (though Russia being a shithole might have meant that he would have never achieved his position if he was normal).

It ends on a funny/tragic endpoint of him featuring on his show a whistleblower on a Russian general that caused soldiers deaths to cover up corruption, and nothing was done on it besides jailing the whistleblower. Maybe supporting authoritarian regimes wasn't a smart idea.
