And he's covering Beamdog's changes to Baldur's Gate. From someone who enjoyed Dragonlance, I think I know what his opinion is.

His opinion seems mixed, lots of half baked ideas with cool set pieces. The African Sheboon lesbian vampire special OC with elongated neck Thief is absolutely nuking any disbelief though. Like holy shit, it's as current year as you can inflict unto a 20 year old game.

I'm torn between agreeing and noting that an African sheboon with elongated neck was also a companion in the first game, although she's far less of an extra-special OC and was unceremoniously killed off before the sequel.

I remember when EE first came out that no one liked this bitch. Absolutely no one. Even wokies didn't like her. She was that fucking bad.
Hexxat was disliked because of all the companions she speaks to she'll put down with laser-targeted efficiency. They have no serious response so it just sounds like someone's mary sue negress being a mouthpiece to insult things they dislike. I think there's a single character that will actually put her in her place but I can't recall who it was. I couldn't stand Hexxat socially though the idea of a vampire companion was interesting.

Another thing Warlock missed is Dorn gets more than just weapon poisoning. He will eventually gain fallen daeva summoning and a few other spells but it's nothing wild. He just becomes a shittier fighter all told if he frees himself. If it was possible to respec him it would be a legit path for him.

I remember playing Baldur's Gate 1 completely blind on the enhanced edition not even realizing the game had Beamdog NPCs and I remember meeting a pink, or maybe blonde(?), haired woman who would non-stop whine about her past trauma working with an evil faction of wizards grinding my gameplay to a halt and snapping the plot's flow in half which was weird because literally no other NPC did this in the game. Then I got to the town, forgot it's name, you go to before you head to the mine to solve the iron shortage and right before you get to the mine, you get a "cutscene" (rarely if ever happens in game by the way) where you basically get confronted by bandits and this orc warrior rules of natures, like as in teleporting behind the bandits confronting us even saying essentially "nothing personnel kid", and then talks in this dead serious 2edgy4me language about how he's on a quest for revenge. Apparently Beamdog had their own companions in the game and I immediately knew who they were because they acted way out of character with the rest of the game's tone and they were fucking annoying. Then I learned there's a mod to delete them and I installed it and installed another mod that restores the classic cutscenes which, for whatever reason, got replaced in the Enhanced Edition.
