If you can identify it as an internet thing it likely got its start on Something Awful. You can literally see where Goblin talks about SA on his blog like it’s the Cultural capital of the internet.

Sometimes I go to his channel and watch recent game reviews in search of his comments about Russia and Russians. Politics aside, he makes pretty good videos.
