Yeah it ended when its story did, instead of being continually re-bastardized to wring out a last few pennies.

Like things should.

Did the story end? I thought Raziel's arc was done and the Elder God had been told to fuck off but the demon-thing from Blood Omen had just taken control of Janos Audron's body, so there was a major dangling problem about what was going to happen with Nosgoth. Iirc the lead writer left soon after Defiance and she was a big driving force behind the games so things were cut off abruptly.

New video is up.
https://www.bloodlines2.com/en/thinblood
Shows basically nothing new, just confirms that you can/will, in fact, play as a Thinblood. Disciplines include "Chiropteran" (basically Animalism, from what I can tell), Mentalism (Telekinesis) and Nebulation (some sort of Lasombra's Obtenebration, but with mist instead of shadows). No gameplay still, but at the very end there is a "sneak peek pre-alpha gameplay", so it looks like we're finally getting something in the nearest future.

Typo or some sort of implication?

it's not a typo, for whatever reason WoD books always refer to players by female pronouns, even the old ones, so i am guessing that's also the case here

The default used in most white wolf books is her. It's a continuation of that.

They use both he and her interchangeably but her more often, it's very jarring, like the exact opposite of people who overuse the word they.

The more stuff they show, the less I want to play.
This teaser looks like copycat of Dishonored animations; also game journos compared this game with Dishonored before, no? I remember another game which gave me strong Dishonored vibes before release, and it was awful.

:optimistic: I still want to believe in this game.

I mean, if they made a game up to par with Dishonoured's level design, aesthetic and variation in gameplay then it would easily be goty material... but this game isn't being made by Arkane, it's being made by a no name indie dev. Come to think of it, Arkane would probably make the perfect VtM game, Dishonoured pretty much nails the type of "play how you want" style that Troika were attempting with VtM:B. It's a shame they're stuck under Bethesda's thumb.

...wait, wasn't "Born a Crime" the title of Trevor Noah's autobiography? [Checks Amazon] Yes. Yes it was. Hoo boy, this is going to be exceptional.

And I'm 95% sure that this is my apophenia acting up, but the "letters piling up under the mail slot" thing reminds me of Harry Potter. (I have read other books, it just... doesn't make sense in context. Why can't he pick up the mail?)

Anarch good. Anarch believe communism good so Anarch good. Ventrue bad. Ventrue have big tower like bad orange drumpf man. Ventrue man bad. I'm calling it now, the LaCroix figure in this game will be trying to stop the thinbloods from entering his domain by building a wall and you have to join the anarchs to bring down the patriarchy or something. You might be able to side with the Camirilla but they'll make it clear that the devs disrespect you as a human being for siding with orange drumpf man.

I don't think they will even go that far. If there is one thing that can be learned about games in the hands of these whack jobs its that they are utterly incapable of dealing with any sort of political issues in a way that gives the player agency, or explores them in any meaningful manner. Oh they may shoe horn in a "Side with the Patriarchy" route, but it will be a last minute rush job with no real story in it and an ending where you die horribly, with your character a stand in for what the devs want to do to people who politically disagree with them but can't because they still fear the law.

There were a few developer streams on Twitch, and apparently they said there will be only 5 playable clans upon release and more will be added later. There was an announcement on the official site, and I believe there was more than one, but none of them seem to be available on Twitch anymore.

I would agree if this was the same Arkane prior to Bethesda's aquistion. They seem to be much less creative ever since. Before we had titles such as Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah nowadays they seem to be copying from other titles like Thief (for their Dishonored franchise) or Half Life (for Prey). None of which is bad, ans in all honesty I enjoed Dishonored 2 (the horrendous performance during launch set aside).

Look at Thief 2014, Arkane made a spiritual successor and nailed it better than the actual successor, taking inspiration doesn't remove creativity. Also, Prey is essentially System Shock, doesn't really have many similarities to Half Life.

You’re reading far too much into it.

Making and being a thinblood is illegal in most domains for a variety of reasons. Tradition, limited food sources, the risk a thin blood will break the masquerade, fear of Sabbat mass embraces, superstitions about what their existence means, all of these things make thinbloods looked down on by most of vampire society.

These woke devs are so predictable that I'll take a stab at the initial 5:
Brujah (obvious)
Gangrel (Furries represent)
Malkavian (lOl sO rAnDoM aNd QuIrKy!)
Tremere (Magic Mary Sues)
Thin Blood (not an actual clan but fuck if they care about lore)

Guaranteed not to be present at first:
Ventrue (Evil undead white cis males)

Well, it shows 5 more "coming soon" clans on the official site, so looks like thin bloods aren't an actual clan. Most likely Ventrue will be in the initial release, unless you still want to exchange them for something more woke/more "huwite".

Nosferatu. They'll frame it as a "defy traditional beauty standards" issue or some shit. Which normally wouldn't be a problem since Andrei and Jeanette are polite to Nosferatu for this exact reason in the original, but nuance and subtlety are lost on the woke crowd.
