Alright, honest take?
White Wolf Publishing lore is dense as fuck at the absolute best of times, and more often than not it's fucking impenetrable. It's lore on top of lore on top of lore that spans like 40 pages of god knows what.
The likelihood of a faithful, loving adaptation of that shit in the current state of "appeal to every mouthbreathing halfwit on earth no matter the cost" that is games publishing today?
Not gonna happen, chuckles.
It's going to be a stripped down, cynical, micropayments laden, season pass nightmare with every microgram of nuance or controversy sandblasted off until it's ready to appeal to as broad a base as possible. If you think a game like the original Bloodlines (a commercial failure even back at release, by the way) is going to happen today, you are fucking dreaming.
We are going to get Twilight: The Game by way of Evolve's business model. I wish that wasn't the case, but there is no fucking way a nuanced, complex RPG with deep lore is going to happen here, friends.
I'm not trying to doomsay, I'd love this to be a loving adaptation, and I'm eager to be proven wrong. I'd adore a solid sequel with all the love and weirdness of the original, but I'm not optimistic.
I don't know man, vicissitude can be pretty brutal.
A respectable discipline, but I prefer messing with blood bonds and making explosions. I am a simple mage.
Dementation for life, plebs.
