Lucky for you i downloaded the entirety of the public server as of 14th of april 2019 at 12:19 EST so you guys can look through it at your leisure without fear of bans.

Jesus, people on this channel get quite cringy sometimes. They talk about things like a normie who just got exposed to some super hip and edgy community, not unlike emos/goths in 00's. One the mods (I assume) is LARPing as LaCroix-esque prince.

I saw this bs coming from a mile away.
Suddenly revive a franchise that was dead in vidya form for ~15 years? Check.
Publisher is both greedy and no fun allowed? Check.
It was inevitable the special interest squad would go after this type of setting, given how it naturally lends itself to alternative lifestyles.
I don't know that much about the tabletop but I really liked how Troika tried to make a genuine RPG by allowing radically different play styles (until the end where you're forced into combat). There's specific clans for "hard" roles including combat, social dancing, stealth, etc that you just don't really get in modern action RPGs.
I'm just sad Avellone is getting roped into this (even as an advisor), I genuinely love a lot of his work. Oh well, I'll take this as an opportunity to replay the first game.

People are straight up lying to themselves when they say it's just the end when you're forced into combat. If you want to finish the game there are multiple bosses that are unavoidable and multiple points of the game that you have no choice of avoiding the combat. It's a very hard game to play to completion more than 3 times, the only meaningful choice you can make in the game is on par with the "pick a colour" ending of me3. Anarchs, Camirilla, Kue-jin or solo. You have to follow lecroix, you have to go to the museum, boat, mansion(s) and ghost house, you have to turn in nines, you have to go through a terrible ending sequence regardless of your choice. The only "genuine RPG" elements are the genuinely interesting side quests, but even those have very little choice involved. Don't get me wrong, I love the game but you have barely any choice without mods and it isn't even slightly on-par with fallout 2, balder's gate and even newer games like pillars of eternity.

Eh. You got railroaded into combat a whole lot in Bloodlines. A better Troika game for gameplay options would be Arcanum. Convince the final boss of the game to kill themself because you're a charismatic motherfucker.
But, I do follow the tabletop, I'm more a New World of Darkness man myself, but Vampire has always been about drama, politics, bullshit, drama, and maybe you get in a fight every 20 hours or so... In that way I think we're getting exactly what's to be expected.

Sidenote: Chris Avellone has the best job in games right now. All you do is pay him like 5 to 10 k to 'consult' or 'work' on it and you can this megaswell of people aching for great storytelling to flock to you

Oh what a surprise it's full of Discord trannies. They absolutely ruin every server and usually get entrenched in being mods to ban wrongthink.
Also, this game is going to suck humongous amounts of dong and I could tell that just from the shiny trailer. This is another Dead Island scenario. Shiny cgi trailer, shit tier game that doesn't understand the source material. I won't sperg about VtM given my some 15 odd years with the system but just from the writers comments I can tell they don't 'get' it at all.
I'm calling it now all the bad guys will be 'huwhite male smarmy Ventrues' because mindless NPC SJWs always target that clan as being the patriarchy boys club while fundamentally not understanding the roots and aims of the clan at all. They're the same types who hold up the super reeeetards Brujah as the bastion of kindred even though their own True Brujah line are like 'wow you guys are utter spergs and should just be offed like a late term abortion'.

I'm calling it now, the LaCroix figure in this game will be trying to stop the thinbloods from entering his domain by building a wall and you have to join the anarchs to bring down the patriarchy or something. You might be able to side with the Camirilla but they'll make it clear that the devs disrespect you as a human being for siding with orange drumpf man.

I loved being a Camarilla loyalist in the original game. Unless you were a dickhead or kept trying to recruit them, you could still get along with the Anarchs and establish a decent working relationship with them.

Maybe it's time to reinstall the original and do those gimmick runs like Malk or Nos that I always wanted to do years ago

EDIT to avoid double posting: if anyone is interested in vampire videogames, I quite enjoyed my time with Vampyr.
I swear, they make sucking blood from innocents so addicting in the game (it's bad karma if you do, but gives huge advantages in character progression) that it has actually made it harder for me, as a player, to complete a pacifist run because it's just... so rewarding. And I'm a perfectionist-100%-good-you-saved-everyone-no-string-attached kind of player.
If this isn't the proper way to make you "feel" addiction (like the one vampires have for blood), I don't know what it.
