Paradox's CEO already said back in mid 2024 they weren't going to be making another one.

So even over a year ago, Paradox's CEO said the only way bloodlines 3 would happen, is if someone else is willing to eat the development cost and that Bloodlines is a dead end for the company. And of course because they're a publicly traded company, being positive about the product is basically a requirement but with statements like that they knew damn well it was going to be a failure.
We'll never know, someone out there might be willing to suck the remaining milk curd that is VtmB and whatever remaining audience left for this franchise at this point. Or god forbid, someone thinks of remaking the first game.

Should just strangle the whole World of Darkness IP to death and bury it in a landfill.

Whatever cultural relevance and popularity the splats, and the IP in general, once had is now gone, and the whole thing is just a degenerate haven for troons to ERP in.

Paradox will probably try to forget the IP and re-release fan made Visual Novels, like they did before VTMB2 dropped, by the way how bad are those two? I vaguely remember someone telling me there was the incredibly old vampire that has the appearance of a child trope in one of them and I just tuned them out ever since.

Every single By Night book has at least one child vampire. The least egregious ones usually have them due to them being teenagers. The more egregious ones have them as kids. One of these splats have one that is actively sexual at like 10 years old. V5 TRIES TO FUCKING JUSTIFY IT BY SAYING HE LOOKS OLDER THAN HIS AGE OF EMBRACE. The Baali Clanbook opens with a child vampire honeypoting a priest and has art of it.

I just want a spec ops hunter game where I'm fucking around and blasting vampires F.E.A.R style.

Is that TOO MUCH TO ASK?!

The first two were extremely short but good and the 3rd was meh. That might have been a thing in the text choose your own adventure games.

Well Interview with a vampire featured a prominent child bloodsucker and VTM basically stole everything that wasn’t nailed down from that.

Will we ever be this edgy again?

Thought I'd share, mentioned RPGCodex in another thread and decided to browse the site for a bit. One of the staff members made a review for this game and uh...comments speak for itself.

It's amazing how you can have staff members with such shit tastes in RPGs, said taste conflicting with most of the site's userbase taste, write reviews for it. This post is particularly fun.

Just so people know, Roguey is a tranny.

Man, the users of RPG codex are a lot more based than I thought they would be. I wonder how many Kiwis are/were RPG codex users because it seems like they'd fit right in.

Doubly so if they're trying to bump the score up to 42%.

I'd imagine there's some overlap, I don't go there often but there's a lot of people with similar mannerisms over there (to a degree, it's still more tame due to rules I'd imagine).

Did not know that, what were people's reaction? Absolute mockery I hope.

The effects of the failure of Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines: 2 continues for Paradox.

The video is a response to to Paradox's PR statement to shareholders announcing a write-down of Bloodlines II while pinpointing three events in the development of Bloodlines II that the creator of the video thinks define the 'core' of Paradox Interactive -- indecent PR antics around the termination of a legacy developer, using a victim as a shield to help the CEO evade accountability, and stifling transparency during Bloodlines II's public development cycle to enable their evolving marketing pursuits.

Is the Clan Quest mod actually any good? I've played through Bloodlines 1 a a few times over the years but outside of wesp's unofficial patch I've never bothered with mods. I was thinking of replaying it again and was gonna use CQ mod but don't know if it's actually worthwhile.

I'm going off memories from about 8+ years ago, so take it with a boulder of salt.

It's pretty alright, when you factor in that:

1) Doing any kind of relatively major mod work (Like adding new levels) on Bloodlines has historically been a ginormous pain in the ass due to the engine limitations (Adding the Art Gallery quest from the Unofficial Patch was quite a feat on its own). So all the quests take place in repurposed places (Or at least that's how it was back in the day)

2) Each quest is essentially created whole cloth, but also repurposes characters that are already in the game, so they used soundalikes to add in new lines. Results are...fairly good, for what's essentially a free mod, but at the end of the day, they are trying to ape professional actors at the top of their game, so they sounded kind of off.

Just like the Antitribu mod, the modders do a really commendable job with the very limited tools they had, but keep your expectations in check.

Just finished playing Bloodlines 1 for the first time. I enjoyed it immensely despite all of the jank, but man, what a wet fart of an ending.
There's a ton of buildup around the sarcophagus, Antediluvians, and the destruction of vampire society, only for it all to be le epic troll by Jack. I'm sure it's supposed to symbolize how conflict between Kindred is ultimately petty and meaningless or something, but it kind of sapped my motivation to do a second playthrough as Tremere (I chose Toreador for maximum exposition dumping).

A lot of interesting lore tidbits also ended up going nowhere, like the Giovanni family or the flesh-eater Pisha, though I suppose it's difficult to incorporate such a rich universe into one small game. Also. Mercurio is a total bro, and Ming Xiao is a duplicitous whore.

Anyways, consider me hooked. What should I look into for more Vampire content? I've never really dabbled in tabletop games, and I hear Bloodlines 2 is a massive disappointment.
