I agree. But I found it annoying how the media still even after a two year investigation. Still thinks the current president is a puppet of Russia. When in reality they can't amount to losing one election.Putin may not be as bad as say Kim but he's still among the very worst people on the planet and quite a bit worse than even some russian leaders from the past. Also lets be clear here the stated goal of the russians is to bring down the US.Its not to reach an accomodation.Primarily because no accomodation with the US can be made where the russians get what they want.Sure they want that as revenge for losing their empire so from their POV its justified but no american should be naive enough to think that just because Putin is not a communist that he's somehow an okish guy.Although i have noticed that many americans are quite gullible.Your average middle class middle aged american if you joke with him a bit and have a couple of drinks he's gonna think you're a nice guy and not realise that you might actually have a hidden agenda.I think education in the US should emphasise a bit more 'smart' paranoia.Paranoia in the US is taught in a very agressive guns blazzing manner and not the subtle learn to read a face manner and learn to understand subtext manner.
This might explain why american citizens keep getting themselves arrested while visiting other countries.Even persons who should know better like that former marine currently held in a russian prison. If he was smart he would have avoided Russia the moment US-Russia relations turned sour. But again too many are not properly paranoid a resulf of a defective education which deemphasises the risk of getting arrested.Too many americans are educated in assuming that innocent of a crime means that the authorities won't pick you up when in fact innocence only means that you won't know why you're getting arrested. But the american system doesn't emphasise the possibility that innocence and guilt might not mean much of anything especially if you're a tourist in a foreign country that has a complicated relation with the US.The american system doesn't actually teach the art of manipulation and subversion possibly because it conflicts with an open society. But the end result is a middle aged former marine that ends up in prison in Russia because he was too stupid to realise the danger.
I'm no fan of Russia, but I still despise the current democrat party.
