The fuck? Is "daren't" even a word?!

Sounds like some archaeic colloquialism you'd find in Shakespeare or something. Troper are notoriously obsessed with their own intelligence and this guy probably thought he was really smart and eloquent for using that word.

Remember, TV Tropes' active community is made up almost exclusively of people like Dobson and MovieBob.

"Daren't" is indeed a word, though it's kind of an archaic one. (Or British, maybe.)

"There have been lots of people throughout time that hated special snowflakes to the point of campaigns of genocide."
No not even close. Go ahead and tell any Bosian genocide survivor, Holodormor survivor, Holocaust survivor, Rwandan genocide survivor that their friends were killed because of how special and unique they were and tell me how expensive the medical bill is. You're not even experiencing anything close to the oppression people who have experienced genocide have gone through.

eyebags have been getting worse, too.

It's still used here in Britain, it isn't exclusive to upper-class people.

See also: shan't

It's still a stark contrast with the rest of this infantile rant.

Tropers live for feeling smart. That's why they apply their stupid vocabulary to cartoons and fanfiction and think this makes them expert critics. It's totally in character for this community to use terms like "daren't" under the impression this gives their posts some gravity.

Remember many of these people are the types who write stories about their half-elf assassins from their D&D games.

I know from Wikipedia experience that "according to some" and similar phrases are people admitting they don't have a source for something they believe themselves.

Even so, who the fuck would want to share their weird Courage diaper fetish?

    • Ok follow me on this: Gramps was the Hammerman. Ok, fine. He needs a NEW Hammerman because, somehow, he's gotten to old to use magic...alright no problem. The magic takes a toll on his body, after a while he couldn't contain it any more. Basically the plot to MCU Ant-Man. Hold on. So the theme says "Gramps and HIS GRANDDAUGHTER". Excuse me? He has a granddaughter, meaning he has a son or daughter already? Where are they? Why not give them the shoes? Let's assume it's daughter and he wanted to only pass it to a male, or was forced to even, she has a DAUGHTER! Where is she!? And if it IS a son, where is he? Why leave your kid with your dad and split? Did they die? Are they just deadbeats? Is that why the hypothetical son or daughter is unworthy of the power? We never know because they never even address this. Now, of course, the out-of-universe reason is the same reason why Donald and Scrooge are both 'uncles' and never have kids, or why Pop-Eye and Olive are 'babysitting', or why Jackie is the 'uncle' of Jade in Jackie Chan Adventures and so on—Western cartoons emphasize distant familial relations for some reason. But here it introduces a massive plot hole which is NEVER BROUGHT UP ONCE in the entire show! One which the show, not only draws attention to by putting it in the opening theme, but HINGES on since otherwise Stanley is irrelevant!

Somebody actually got triggered by Hammerman oh my god
