Wasn't shit like that cordoned off behind their "On-Topic Conversations" subforum and moderated within an inch of its life? It seems their mods have managed to get even more negligent since Fast Eddie's days.
 
It's not just TV Tropes doing this... But it is a major source of salt that belongs in our thread for exactly THAT, if it hasn't already, that is.

I like to imagine lolcows are more defined by their reaction to being poked more then what they do. If he just has a taste for Sailor Moon but doesn't flip out when he gets poked, live and let live.

That's usually what I go by most of the time. Another good indicator is how they act over he internet in general, like shoving their political/religious beliefs down the throats of others. Or publicly show off fetishes. Or hell, just act in a way that makes it easy to poke them to the point of rage.

I also like how another guy says that the left should be realistic and not delusional, and then he goes on to say that most of the country is bigoted and that the US will cease to exist.

The TVTropes community spent the past five or six years drinking the soc just Kool-Aid. I remember by the time I stopped browsing the site, it was already starting to creep in (for example, on their "Cleopatra Nose" article is stated finding small noses attractive is cultural fascism and on their "Vasquez Always Died" page it implied Vasquez only dies because she looks like a dyke).

So really this is par for the course when the only people left in your community are all basically Andrew Dobson.

Vasquez died because EVERYBODY FUCKING DIED. And I'm pretty sure most people think Vasquez was the most awesome of those doomed space marines.

That's like saying Hudson died because he was a whiny white male. Him dying was FUNNY because he was a whiny white male, sure, but he was in on the everyone fucking dies thing just like everyone else but the two designated survivors.

Their logic was if there are two women in a horror movie, the butch one will die and the girl next door will survive. Which is usually true. But they took it a step further and suggested the Vasquez character has to die because she's obviously a lesbian and therefire can't wind up with the male survivor if there is one.

Which is a little shit lordy, really, because never once does the movie imply Vasquez is a rugmuncher. It's like if a female character displays any kind of physical prowess she's automatically gay.
