When asked about why they thought the new Top Gun was “too safe, brainless, and only worked on an emotional level”, Fighteer and others responded with this.

Fighteer (and that other faggot whose name I won't bother typing out) completely miss the point of the new Top Gun, or summer blockbusters in general, in my opinion. If I go to the cinema to watch a movie, I want to come out feeling better than when I came in, and I assume this is the case with most moviegoers. I don't want to come out of a movie annoyed about what they did to my favorite characters (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, and I didn't even watch these at the cinema) or distraught or outright confused (indigestible European arthouse dreck).

That's why Top Gun: Maverick is such a big success: It leaves moviegoers who watch it with a smile on their faces. It didn't confront them with political bullshit or heavy-handed emotional tragedy. It is a perfect example of escapism. A movie doesn't have to be extremely realistic or "smart" to be good.

Fighteer loves misery.

"I'm sorry I can't enjoy a movie unless they kill off all previous main characters from the past movies." Troper

That I do have to wonder about.

Why on earth do Fighteer and the others want so badly for the movie to have killed off Maverick because “ it shows consequences for his actions,” or that “him being a death seeker would’ve been much more interesting?”

I'm no expert but I'm going to say that he is a backass edgelord who drank from the edgelord punch bowl too much.

Seriously, the fuckface ought to lighten up.

I think they wanted him to die so it would be revealed that the real main character was of the minority characters or something. They seem to hate older generations.

Ironic since most of the politicians they surpport and will protect no matter what are really old people.

What Hitler did what peanuts compared to Maverick!!!

It's a bit more interesting than that, let me break it down: TvTropes, like many things, is run by a weird mob rule/oligarchy situation. Right now that mob is stuck on appealing to the trans crowd. Not the gays, not the lesbians, the trans crowd, since they basically run the show at this point. They even made a new bullshit trope to paint characters who are not trans as trans for self insertion purposes. I'm sure a lot of people don't actually care at best, but anyone who pushes back will be banned in a heartbeat and labeled a bigot because nuance is dead.

This is one of those edits where some guy is clearly offended at the idea of anyone criticizing the thing they like. At least it's not as bad as the Star Wars Sequel pages which are, to this day, still pushing that narrative about Russian hackers being the reason for bad reviews.
Making tropes for Trans-people to insert themselves into normal people is just another attempt for these people to claim characters and concepts because these people are parasites, they can't create anything on their own that will do well bar some exceptions, just look at Matrix 4 and compare it to the first movie.

Fighteer loves misery.
And misery loves company.

These aren't even criticisms, these are just two guys making up their own script because they're butthurt the movie didn't end the way they wanted. Also, imagine being a grown man and still thinking that an out of nowhere tragic ending is the epitome of writing.

I really need to stop posting what the tropers think of the new Top Gun movie, but it never ceases to irritate me.

And now they're getting into the legal side of it. Including claiming that the film is "woke". Yes, really.

And cue Fighteer still thinking that someone should've died in the final mission.

That said, the Analysis section for the film is surprisingly good, and even notes that it is successful because it doesn't try to subvert expectations or anything.

You ever wonder if the wife and kid are only ok with what Fighteer is doing because it technically gets him away from them?
