The only things FE had to do to stop that site from turning into an hugbox was to be more open to criticism and to stop freaking out about what people write on the forums. And there's also the Fetish Fuel incident, how he handled the ED raid.

But I think that after he left, the site went full soy for an lot of things; but I think that it was an cultural thing that the internet was going through.

Fast Eddie was a 50 year old man with the mind of a child, I'm not sure things were much better under him. I still see some of his old forum posts and I'm embarrassed for him. I am curious of something though, when's the last time someone just openly argued with Fighteer over the state of the site? I know he loves to thump, censor and ban dissent but it's not like anyone's afraid of him.

Under FE, TVT was a den of pedophiles, groomers in addition to the usual obsessive autists, which somehow transitioned into the typical virtue signaling liberal NPC brigade that infests every nerd website now. I wonder if it was the userbase that changed or if these people have always been the same crowd and just changed with the times.

Not everything on TVtropes is bullshit - it has value as a lolcow, an encyclopedia for fiction, and the Real Life sections can be a source of interesting trivia, especially when they include links.

Never thought I’d see someone on the woke side calling something woke as if it were a bad thing. It’s funny cos leftists often accuse rightoids/anti-SJWs of abusing terms like “woke” when describing something they don’t like. And yet here they are doing just that.:story:

Between this and his defense of corporations going woke for profit, this dude sounds like a proper social justice apologist. Is he counted as one of the Breadtube lot? He is an ex-CA member and most of them at among the ranks of the Breadtubers.
 
Can we talk about how some tropes just don't make any Goddamn sense? I remember opening up a cleanup thread for clarifying the meaning of "Cartoonish Supervillainy" and to the shock of no one, it was locked by the first mod who saw it because I put it in the "wrong section". Apparently it's a joke trope, but I saw it seriously used for an X-Men page and only there. Maybe explain which is which to people, maybe?

The biggest WTF on TVTropes for me has to be Nobody Poops. I mean, they acknowledge why it is that (almost) no one uses the bathroom in movies, but that is fucking self-explanatory. Why would they even make a page for it? Was there some toilet-obsessed autist who noticed that no one takes a shit in movies (because nobody wants to see that)?
