Dyk that botz the babysitter got away in her first appearance because she was originally going to be a recurring vilian on the show? Constantly scheming ways to get revenge on Bart and Lisa? But they never came up any plans to reuse her and sideshow Bob ultimately ended up taking her role. Anyway semi unrelated clip that's becoming something of a meme

That's a character I wish then she could return. I could even imagine her teaming with Sideshow Bob.

This episode was actually supposed to be the real debut episode of the series, but the animation kept getting changed dramatically throughout production, so they ended up constantly retooling it with different animators and teams. The studio that helped create it (Klasky-Csupo) originally animated it to be all wonky, silly, and askew like their usual stuff, and Matt Groening wanted it to be more straightforward and semi-realistic to some degree.

so then they made it look too smooth and too pretty as seen in the clip, and apparently matt wasn't happy with that either so then had to specify and even show them exactly how he wanted it too be animated and that led to a few scenes and the smooth animation to be get left on the cutting room floor. this clip one of the few exceptions that slipped past matt's radar

Does Bart ever say "eat my shorts" or "ay caramba" in Zombie Simpsons? Back when the show was good, that was more of a really early episodes thing.

I don't know specifically, but towards the end of the Golden Era (in the episode where the family goes to Flanders' vacation home) there's a scene with Lisa playing with cool older kids, and she vocally uses Bart's old catchphrases much to his chagrin. He complains to Marge, and she tells him, "Oh, you haven't said those words in years."

Even at that point they were self-aware of real old school and outdated Simpsons lore.

Did anyone else here have a "Bootleg Bart" T-shirt back in the day? I'd often get them at county fairs or at a mall kiosk whenever it got close to my birthday.

I owned a few as a kid. One was Bart drawn as a Ninja Turtle, another was Bart rocking a Chicago Bulls jersey, and there were a couple I had with Bart and the Confederate flag, which was surprisingly a lot more of a thing than people think.

Rebel flag redneck Bart was on par with blackwashed Bart in terms of how often it showed up in bootlegs, even if Google Images tends to fudge the results a lot more nowadays.

Many people here were speculating whether the show would finally end when one of the main voice actors passes away, but after seeing what AI can currently do, I don't think that's even an issue anymore. While the technology for that isn't perfect yet, the complexity of artificial intelligence is developing at lightning speed nowadays, and I'm actually kinda worried to see what's it gonna be like in 5-10 years.

And there was one when Bart beat up Saddam.

The Gulf War is one of the biggest "genres" of bootleg Bart merch. It's right up there with blackwashed Bart, redneck Bart/Rebel Flag Bart, and Bart shilling for local tourist traps and school sports teams.

An underappreciated sub-genre that I liked was when you'd get sort of a bootleg crossover where Bart is with another popular IP from the time like Sonic The Hedgehog, TMNT, Sailor Moon, the Chicago Bulls, etc.

my god, it sounds as lifeless as the real homer does now!

I really wish they'd actually end The Simpsons but I know they won't and knowing how both Disney and Al Jean skew towards the "Fuck You, fans!" mindset, any actual series finale would likely be treated as a normal episode.

I've talked about how I'd handle the promotion of a Simpsons final season or series finale a few times before, but I've never thought about what the finale would actually be...

If they weren't so paralyzed by the Woke Left, I'd even bring back Apu in full and have Hank Azaria voicing non-White characters again. Maybe publicly fire Al Jean as well. Basically do a big pre-finale blitz to win favor back from the old fans and make it be known this will be the actual end of the series.

As for the actual final season? As autistic and retarded as this will likely sound, I'd say adapt the plot of Simpsons: Hit & Run to a TV season format. Each level would get three or four episodes a piece, which would roughly correspond to the typical episode count of a full season.

You'd obviously have to make a few changes since it would be a show and not a video game and I'd maybe add a few plot twists like having Kang & Kodos have human collaborators in their plots like Mr. Burns, Sideshow Bob, and Hank Scorpio.

Go full bookends and maybe bring back Ms. Botz as one of these villainous collaborators and the couch gag for the finale being the same one from Some Enchanted Evening and the Treehouse of Horror/Level 7-inspired episodes all beginning with the funny tombstones intro.

Maybe the story could begin with Buzz Cola being bought out by Globex Corporation...

Yes, it's autistic and retarded bullshit on par with a fanfiction but it's not like a typical HD-era Zombie Simpsons episode is any better at this point.
